Maybe we can get a bit of clarity on green card red - card usage.

Maybe there should be a little information provided to the students before a lockdown drill to reduce their stress level. Even stressing the types of "emergencies" that it could be that are not active shooters could help them be more calm and less afraid. It could be age-dependent, but should be the same across a grade level, I think.

I would like some clarification on where students go for a general drill if it is during lunch or recess. I like the idea of diving deeper into this in a future pd before practicing with the students

I am wondering what the process of getting connected with Alice training as a resource is. It can be triggering but I like the theology that it empowers teacher with choice.

Backpack rosters.

Checked my backpack yesterday and I only had papers in it for individual circumstances. Teachers that teach multiple classes; art, music, science, PE, library (I am sure I am missing something)... at Loma will need to have every roster for all students.

I would like to hear about systems of emotional support for teachers following the news of a school shooting. I feel like we are normalizing this issue by not addressing its impact.

Just a simple "Are you ok" might help.

backpack for P.E.

Should I keep a backpack in the outside storage adjacent to the bathrooms near Loma and keep a backpack in my office next to the gym? Right now I don't have an emergency backpack in my office.

I think the music room is unsafe as it only has one exit. If there is an unsafe situation we would have to leave through a broken window if the one exit is compromised. I see almost all the kids in the school. I think room 22 would be the safest step forward for music for safety and space.

Can we consider getting LockBloks in addition to the magnet. They are on the inside of the door and the nice thing is you can close it without having to open the door at all. They are easy to install.

The magnetic strips do not work on the art room doors. A key is the only option unless you have another suggestion?

Can we have SPED class line-up area moved by the 8th graders and away from art, as I may have little kids.

Paul, Amy, etc, would benefit from a very identifiable hat, such as an orange construction hat, so they can be quickly identified by police and emergency workers.

I think that it would be helpful to practice a soft lockdown with students, so that they have some familiarity in the event that a lockdown is needed.

Are there any specific plans or protocols for individuals with disabilities or other support needs during emergency situations? Is there a document that outlines the needs of specific individuals with disabilities related to different emergency situations?
