Quoting "Given the huge number of fatal accidents that take place on our roads every year, the introduction of more cameras could save hundreds of lives". These studies say that speed cameras can stop RTCs yet in contrast the BBC were told by 36 police forces in the UK that they have a total of 2,838 cameras and just 1,486(52%) are active and catching speeders. I will start my research by setting up a questionnaire for my peers in public services, this will give me current facts, data and opinions from the younger generation on my research proposal. This will start me of with some great findings. I can then use this to continue my research on the internet, possibly using reports and books to gain more insight on how my question will end in hypothesis hi or hypothesis ho. Once I have gathered all findings, from my methodology and my research I will in depth analysis piece by piece my findings. Whether or not speed cameras are reducing RTC's or if they are just a waste of government funding. I intend on presenting my finding in a way everyone will understand if ever to read my report, start to finish explaining all details of either side of my research. As I'm aware Cleveland, Durham and North Yorkshire had non of their fixed cameras switched on (the are me and my peers live and drive). I would like to look into the speed cameras in the UK how many are running in 2019, not just the statistics i already have from 2017. Do the police need to knuckle down on speed cameras? After all due to budget cuts they are short staffed and by having the cameras switched on this could save them from numerous calls outs to collisions.

Mr Lacey taking this into his own hand has worked to an extent, when it first went up he noticed an immediate difference in driver slowing down as they spotted the camera. This article is now plastered over popular news websites and of course social media so the majority of people driving along this particular road on the A1 will now ignore the camera as they know its not real. After reading the article they will also know that the council has stated they will be taking action on fixing the already standing speed camera that has been out of operation. The spokesman from the council has also stated that in the meantime police can use mobile speed enforcement vans. I could also choose a online survey similar which has a similar concept to a questionnaire but they can sometimes be tricky to set up and unreliable if systems crash, all my data is gone. Which is the reason i have choose to stick with a simple, quick and effective form of data seeking. A questionnaire. In my questionnaire i will be using quantitive style question short answers is all i require from my peers in order to get as many statistic as i can to conclude my hypothesis. I will not leave the questionnaire at that, there will also be a number of qualitative questions where i will expect detail and reasoning for my peers answers, which will help with my research and allow me to quote valid and invalid statements. The sample of people i will be giving my questionnaire to are my class peers, there is on average 22 of them, i'd like them all to take part in the research with me, there is a range of ages from 17-21, a 70/30 split boys to girls and we all come from different backgrounds and have walked different paths to get were we are now but we are all public service students. In my final report i will show my findings in varies different tables counteracting gender and age as well as providing charts and graphs.
