Cecilia was also denounced and sentenced to be thrown into the fire of the baths of her own home, but was unhinged. Turkish Almachi then ordered it to be slit; Cecilia, wounded three times with the axe, expired after three days of agony. Pope Urban, helped by his deaconos, buried the martyr and devoted his house as a basilica.

Many of this will be eliminated, first by the destruction of the Crusaders in the XIII and porteriorly by becoming a mosque in the XV after the Turkish conquest, so today we only retain a few magnificent examples, to which we will dedicate this post.
In the endoncardtex (second nartex), above the main door we find the first of them.            The oldest historical reference on the saint dates back to the "Martyrologium Hieronymianum", of the 4th century, where its name is mentioned twice: August 11, the feast of the martyr Tiburcio, and September 16, the date of her burial in the catacombs of Calixtus.
