Jaime found her friend and they sat together at lunch, and she met the group he was in. She became friends with them, then there was a bubble race. Her old BFF didn’t want to go against Jaime, so she made the leader of the group do it. While Jaime and the leader were racing, Jaime fell and bumped into the leaders bubble, then her shirt came off, after the teacher helped her get her shirt back on, the leader acted like nothing happened, then she went back to the group and told them that it wasn’t on accident and that Jaime bumped into her on porpoise. Jamie has some TOXIC friends that aren’t good for her. She starts to realize that somethings off about her friend group. Some of her close friends started to excluded Jamie and make fun of her by the way she dresses and things she likes.                                                                                                                                                                                                 
  

 But Maya her BFF has her back. Maya found out and told Jamie that they were leaving her out of in her friend group. Jamie caught maya siting with Jamie’s old friend group after Jamie was talking to Maya  about them. Maya had made it into the friend group and became friends with them. Maya started to come to the friend group meetings and started talking about Jamie. Soon after there’s was a race coming up it was a against Maya and Jamie. Her old BFF didn’t want to go against Jamie so Maya picked someone from her new friend group and decide to race Jamie. After Jamie realized what happened to her seventh grade year. She should be happy for who she is not anybody else. Just except for who you are,   as long as your happy. Be happy for who you are not for any body else. resistance is about Chaya a teenage girl that is Jewish living in Poland. After her little sister is taken away to a death camp her younger brother dissapears her parents give up evreything but hope and Chaya trys to get them to come with her and tries to give them forged identifacation papers but they refuse and Chaya joins a resistance and is a courier so she can smuggle food to people in the ghettos. The book takes place in a barely inhabitable setting in Arizona.  It is very hot there,  only two schools, one elementary and one high school.  All of the middle school kids have to share the elementary building.  There are no colleges in this small town.  The main character named Gus lives with his grandma in her trailer; they are poor.  He is thirteen years old. 
He complains about having to share a bathroom with his grandma because she leaves her dentures out on the counter next to his toothbrush.  Grandma is an interesting lady.  She enjoys watching women’s wrestling, which can get a little violent sometimes. 

The main character has to deal with a bully named Bo Taylor who races dirt bikes.  Bo holds Gus by his hair next to a prickly cactus and tells him to eat the cactus.  There is a girl in the story who’s name is Rossy,  who also races dirt bikes, she named her really good dirt bike Loretta; she is faster and always beats Bo. She makes a deal with  Bo that if he lets the main character go, she will give Loretta to Bo.
