Joan was the daughter of a poor farmer in Domrémy, France. But despite that Joan managed to rise above and played a major role in expelling the English and the Burgundians from France. How did she manage to do all this? The question lies in a remarkable experience which she had when she was only 13. In a dream she heard the voices of St. Michael, St. Catherine, and St. Margaret guiding her to expel invaders. Joan had experienced God guiding her on a mission through saints in a dream.

God Respects Our Freedom

God does not want bad things to happen to good people, then why was Joan of Arc burned at the stake at only age 19? Because God respects our freedom. God gave Joan the freedom to fight the English invaders, and unfortunately this led to her capture. She was then charged with a multitude of crimes and a couple days later she used her free will to break orders and dress like a man, but this time she was given a death sentence. God did not restrict Joan's decision to fight, which ultimately helped France, and He did not restrict Joan's decision to defy the law twice, which unfortunately got her burned.

Throughout her short life, St. Joan of Arc was committed to her justice even to the point of death. Joan broke gender barriers and proved that she could help save France, no matter her gender. St. Joan of Arc stood up for what she thought was right (expelling invaders from France) despite people doubting her because of her gender.
