ECS hosting and sending organisation

We titled our project “Education for Tomorrow” by being inspired by the needs of the kids from the Feleacu area (the Feleacu village being the main place where our project is going to unfold). We believe that children can develop amazingly and grow up into being prolific adults if they are given the proper learning environment, in spite of their original background. The children we work with fall into two categories: children from monoparental families, families with financial or social difficulties, rural areas who are lacking the opportunity to participate in non-formal educational programs and children with normal social backgrounds. Thus, we bring together two different categories of children and teach them to work together, to integrate and to play, by minimizing discrimination. We provide a rich range of activities, combining outdoor activities.

We are looking to involve ten volunteers in this project, two Romanians and eight from EU countries. If you're interested in applying, you must be in the age group of 18-30 years old, to be motivated to learn Romanian, in order to be able to work better with the children. We do not require volunteers to have any pre-determined skills set or abilities in order to carry out the activities. If you like children, have a basic level in English, and are open to develop new skills and face new challenges, you are exactly what we are looking for.

The organisation stands mainly on 3 pillars:

- Cultural heritage and its preservation:

    - We own a 17th century monastery that we are fully renovating to become a centralised HUB for the transferring of social public services;

    - We are also restoration Kamariškės manor, 3 km from Latvia to become an artists residency for visual arts and a music studio;

- Sustainibility and environmental practices:

    - We are focusing on preservation of biodiversity in the regional park “Gražiutės regional park”;

    - Every year we organise “Zero Waste Festival”, for the awareness of sustainable practices;

- Community:

    - We implement European Solidarity Corps projects (we own accreditation for the quality label), both long and short-term projects;

    - We implementa Mobility for Young people under Erasmus+ program (we own accreditation in KA152);

    - We opened the first Lithuania Folk High School, where students are learning how to become social leaders to sensitise community and learning social skills

We have the Quality Label for lead organisations. We host individual and team volunteers in the Youth Centre and send Finnish youngsters to Europe. Ankkapurha Culture Foundation is the back organisation of the Ankkapurha Youth Centre and its primary task is to develop and support youth work as a national and international youth centre. In addition the aim of the foundation is to cherish the cultural inheritance of Ankkapurha area.

Fez was founded more than a thousand year ago and it's the city of culture and education. We embrace Fez Hub with the same values of our community and we will design some programs that improve the state of our city.

A creative project focused on environmental issues, where we are developing a campaign about food waste and a mobile app for second-hand stores.

YWB work to initiate the different categories of people, especially youth and women, to the democratic exercise, through a better participation in the public, political and civic life in order to build a better future for Youth. Besides our permanent collection we organise temporary exhibitions, theoretical conferences and festivals.

Our art education sessions enable visitors to get to know modern and contemporary works through first-hand experience.
