The fabric is sheer because it is loosely woven. Some Chiffon fabrics could be fluid, working with a person's curves to conclude the design. The usual fiber is 100% silk, polyester, and rayon.

A strength of Chiffon is that it is lightweight and drapable. On the opposite side, it's not a strong material and not ideal for a tight fitting garment. Some garments made of Chiffon are evening dresses/bridal, and blouses. It could also be found in undergarments/lingerie, nightgown, and robes.
