At one of the meetings Lay brought a hollowed out book  and put animal bladder inside of it, at one point in the meeting he said “Thus shall God shed the blood of those persons who enslave their fellow creatures." he then slashed a sword through the book and the blood of the animal badder splattered on every body in the room. He was then thrown out. He would grow his own food and make his own cloths because he didn't want anything the slave made . Lay was committed to a lifestyle of almost complete self sustenance. Lay was just above 4 feet tall he had a hunched back.
