Roser Brunet and Júlia Rodriguez We know that in the future the climate will be extreme due to climate change. We have been using plastic bottles, polluting cars, factories, etc. In some cities, it will be extremely hot and in others, it will be exceedingly cold.

For this reason, we have to start making changes now, so humanity can live in better conditions in the near future. For example, in Barcelona, we know that every year the temperature increases more and more. To begin with, the government should facilitate these changes by giving aid, subsidies, raising awareness <del>to</del> OF the population, etc. Some solutions to make a change would be: plant more trees, reduce water consumption, use solar panels, use the car hardly ever, stop using <del>one single use</del> SINGLE-USE productS, buy local products… Small changes can have a huge positive impact.

We think cities are already using many strategies to fight climate change and we are going to talk about three of them. Let’s start with embracING renewable energy sources. Some cities are installing solar panels on public buildings. This way we will be able to reduce <del>the</del> pollution and save renewable energy. There are many <del>of</del> other ways, such as, supporting local solar co-operatives. Another way cities are fighting against climate change is by supporting smarter public transportation. Cities can drastically cut the number of cars <del>taking to the road</del> BANNING THEIR USE, this way they <del>are reducing</del> WILL REDUCE greenhouse gas and CO2 emissions. The last solution we are going to talk about is banning and reusing plastic. The immense majority of plastic produced isn’t <del>recylcled</del>.RECYCLED It ends up in landfills, oceans, green spaces, and elsewhere, <del>where</del> it pollutes ecosystems, harmS animals, and contaminates drinking water. So if we want to have a better and healthy future, LET’S CHANGE OUR LIFESTYLE TOGETHER!

EXCELLENT TEXT.

Maria Masuet, Júlia Muntada i Jana Sala.

CLIMATE INNOVATIONS Pol Roca, Lian and Ylenia

Solutions to stop climate change:

-Increase the use of renewable energy: These energies are clean and inexhaustible, and these do not produce greenhouse gases or pollution emissions. They do not affect climate change.

- Use electric cars or public transport: Electric cars don't pollute as much as cars that use gasoline, they're more durable and cheap. Public transport prevents more pollution because all people<del> inside the transport are not polluting with their car</del>.USING PRIVATE CAR POLLUTE MORE

-Recycle: It reduces the amount of garbage that in the <del>cause</del> CASE of non-recycling would end up in seawater and rivers, in the soil or other surfaces, which in the end generate toxic gases.

-Reducing plastic: plastic is very polluting to the planet <del>which</del> AS IT is a hard material<del> and</del> , IT is not biodegradable and most of IT <del>the plastic</del> ends up at sea.

CITIES CLIMATE CHANGE

When we think about the climate of the future, something strange comes to our mind. Unfortunately, we won’t be able to change our production system. We will continue using oil and fossil fuels. Because of that, we will totally destroy the ozone layer <del>of the earth</del>. Due to this, the temperature will rise and the two poles will have some consequences. The animals that live there will die because they will not have a place to stay in, also, IT will <del>suppose</del> LEAD TO the extinction of many of them. The future engineers will invent a kind of platform for the bears to stay <del>there</del>, they will live normal lives but on top of another floor.

It won’t rain as much as it does now because the <del>industrys</del> will use a lot of water to produce more products and food, there won’t be the same amount of water in the sea <del>that</del> THAN there is now.

One of the solutions that we believe could improve the situation is that we should <del>encourage</del> MAKE society AWARE <del>about</del> OF how this affects us in many ways. So, hopefully, society will learn that we need to reduce and produce less plastic. Also, to reduce plastic, we could <del>use</del> PRODUCE other <del>production </del>materials <del>inside</del> INSTEAD of plastic, like potato starch.
Júlia G., Marçal, Nayara

During the first year, we would rise the price <del>of</del> of gasoline and so <del>we</del> THE GOVERNMENT WOULD <del>invite to</del> ENCOURAGE the people to change their car<del> and</del> . The second year, <del>we would</del> <del>denegate</del> <del>this</del> THESE cars WOULD BE BANNED and THE GOVERNMENT WOULD help the people to change their car giving <del>away charges</del> AIDS for electric cars and putting charger plugs in gas stations.

Another possible innovation is encouragING recycling. <del>We</del> THE GOVERNMENT would establish <del>an</del> a schedule for the garbage truck.
