This past week, I have learned how to analyze a poem and find figurative language. I will definitely remember this poem because it showed me faith in a new light. I never knew someone could even have that much faith in a person/people. A skill I learned was probably how to write a literary analysis and I hope I could improve that over the course of the next few weeks as well as improve the ability to relate textual evidence to the main idea. I wish to learn more about how to use strong word choice when writing and understanding different concepts in a writing and analyzing that.

I learned the bases of how to analyze poems. I always had a problem excluding choices in multiple-choice questions, which I think I got better at. The most memorable thing was having to write my opinion on a topic that I never thought of, it was overly nice but kinda scary because sometimes I can't back up my opinion or don't have a clear one. I want to genuinely improve my writing, comprehension, and analyzing skills. I find myself always struggling with a lot of multiple choices, writing my opinion, and analyzing a text. Therefore,I would hope to progressively improve these weaknesses

Another skill I learned was how to determine which piece of evidence best describes the theme. The poem was called faith, I wasn’t very excited when the teacher mentioned the poem because I always thought that poems are impossible to understand. The moment we started reading it and analyzing the poem faith, it started making more since and I actually kind of enjoyed it. I was so surprised and very proud of my self although I wasn’t perfect in it I was happy which is so rare because if I wasn’t perfect in something I quit learning or doing it immediately, but surprisingly I didn’t quit when I didn’t get it the for the first. It started getting easier and easier the more the teacher explained it. At the end of the session I actually understood it and solved the question all by my self. I hope that by the next weeks I could analyze a poem all by my self without any help.

During the enrichment class last week, we started by writing an essay about who we thought was braver, a person who follows the crowd, or a person who goes against it, we were given a limited amount of time to write the essay and I realized one of my weak points which is that I couldn't write and gather ideas as fast as the others so hopefully by the end of this term, I will be able to write faster and better than how I normally do. After that, we covered the poem "Faith" and I learned how to analyze the poem in a depth. One of the many skills that I found interesting and had helped me analyze the poem was allusions which helped me view the poem from a different perspective. After we read the poem we answered the questions that were given, the teacher then helped us realize the difference in choices in the multiple-choice questions which I'm sure will help me later on with the language arts sessions. And one impression that I don't think ill ever forget was when Miss Auhood made us view these sessions as sessions to improve and should be called "enrichment sessions" because support sessions didn't sound as appealing, and I totally agree.

A moment I remember from last week was when we annotated and discussed the poem and answered the questions. An idea I learned is that even though scientists aren't the most put-together people we still trust them. my goal for next week is to focus on the small details and not to look past them and to expand my vocabulary. something I realized as a weakness in my word choice and paying attention to details. something I wish to learn next is to improve my writing such as essays, paragraphs, and summaries

My weakness point is how to write a literal analysis but in this weak I learned how to write literal analysis and hope that in next week I would achieve it . Example: in open ended questions I shouldn’t just write an evidence without explaining them and refer them to what I analyze . I should work on how to answer comprehension questions and for next week I wish to learn a new skill and learning strong word choice.

I get every single part of the text by discussing and asking questions where I analyze the main idea and paraphrase it as a question. Being in a group, of course, affects a lot of how u behave without u even realizing it, It's crazy how conformity works so we always have to take care and avoid being scared to show our real decisions even if no one liked them don't change your decision for a group of a couple of people.

The more we sit and discuss the text I hear the new questions and ideas and POVs that definitely helps me understand the text more.

This week, we learned how to phrase our close read questions and discussed some of the questions as well. Compared to the first week, I feel like I’ve gotten better at analyzing texts and understanding the overall message of the text. In open ended questions, I know how to restate and rephrase evidence in a way that helps who ever is reading comprehend what the writer mean here. The text this week helped me understand the bug question, which is ‘How does being in a group affect how we behave?’, because it showed me how people can be blinded by what is right or wrong just because others with us and generations before us have been doing it that way. I still have a lot to learn and hope to be able to learn some of those things later on.

I’ve noticed differences in my writing involving how fast I can think of an answer, and how I can utilize certain pieces of writing to support my ideas. I believe that our group discussions and consistent practice helped me develop a much deeper understanding of conformity. When I was first asked “How does being in a group affect how we behave”, my ideas were broad. However, after deep-diving into the topic, I realized that society is not only following similar ideologies coincidentally. In fact, theres psychological reasons and even types for it.

In my first response, I said that I wanted to improve in comprehension questions but now I can see that I improved in comprehension questions and open ended questions. “How does being in a group affect how we behave?” This question has negative and positive effects, because if this group had a weak leader and unhealthy people in it, this may affect negatively at me. But if the leader was strong and the people as well this will affect positively at everyone in this group.

Last week I took a 0 out of 4 on my open-ended question but this week I took a 4 out of 4. This week is a big improvement for me and I hope to complete this by the end of this support class. I understood the open question much better than last week. Being a the group has both negative and positive things. As humans when we are with a group of people sometimes we will be affected by them easily. so it is not always a good thing and it is not a bad thing either.

This week I have learned how to write good close read questions. My impression on the text this week is that at first I was very confused but as I reread I felt that I could predict the meaning and slightly expected more. I have learned that while using text evidence it is in fact better to rephrase it yourself and that it isn't required. My goal for next week is that I will be able to answer a question correctly and properly. I realized that I should probably change my style of writing. Next week I wish to learn how to properly organize my answer and be able to write more clearly and more sufficiently.

At first when I read the title I thought of immediately “someone poor winning the lottery” but after a started reading my perspective change. I liked the plot twist, because usually in in school’s text you can understand the whole text by just reading the title, but in this one it was different or should I say unique. Being in a group in my opinion is something special. I can learn their ideas and they can learn mine. We both could finish faster learn from different prospective.

Not many people have the opportunity of taking this class so the fact that i was able to is crazy. My love for writing has grown and although it was pretty hard at first, I’m thankful for it. I learned how to analyze poems and write a persuasive essay without relying too much on paraphrasing websites. My understanding for articles and essays has gotten deeper and more specific. I wish to learn how to write a poem or a fiction story because i find these topics to be very interesting. I wouldn’t call myself a good writer, i still have a long way to go but comparing my essay before and after, i noticed that it was more organized and coherent than when i first wrote it. Overall, I hope we can take this class next semester as well because it was more fun than i had initially expected it to be.

In the support classes I’ve learned how to annotate clearly and I will try to use it in the final exams instead of reading the essay more And more.I wish that we could learn how to understand deep poems and how we could write poems and to take Shakespeare’s poems. I need to work on how to get in the discussion because usually I had something to share but I couldn’t get in the discussion.

Ever since we began taking support classes, I never thought I’d reach where I am today. I have more acquired skills in the span of 10 weeks than several years of writing argumentative essays. It wasn’t only essay skills that I learned, but also poem/essay analysis. For a while before these classes, I always despised whenever we had to analyze poems or write essays. I had the belief that there was no way I’d ever be able to improve myself in those matters. However, ever since I started practicing and participating in discussions regarding those skills. I found myself actually benefiting greatly. I have expanded my vocabulary, strengthened my claims/points, as well as enhanced my organization. Of course, there is still room for improvement, and I can’t say that I’ve perfected any of the skills I worked on. Therefore, I will continue working on them. After fixing my essay, I didn’t notice much changes other than my peers comments. Mainly because I already practiced those skills throughout the support classes.

I also learned to annotate texts probably and easily another thing I learned was how to create close-read questions and answer them.

These support classes have helped develop my essay and writing skills by teaching me how to properly write sentences, organize my ideas and thoughts clearly and efficiently, and how to properly present textual evidence. And outside of the writing spectrum is poetry, with the first couple of classes I learned how to understand and identify the meaning of the figurative language used in the poems and the concept of the language used as well as the benefit of using it. I would wish to have more discussions in the class because not only do I enjoy them I also benefit from them by improving my language and also have a better understanding with other people's opinions which will benefit you tremendously and lead you to be more open minded person. I believe I need to work more on my writing skills. I feel that my ideas aren't organized clearly and I have an issue with reusing the same vocabulary and ideas. And my sentences in my essay aren't that coherent. After fixing I improved my vocabulary, fixed my sentences like subject-verb agreement, and helped organize my essay coherently.

Support sessions improved and added me so many skills such as writing, poem analyzing, and open-ended question-answering skills.

In the writing, I knew so many things. Such as writing evidence from stories like the reader didn't read it before, and avoiding using directed and personal pronouns. In the poem analysis, I realized that poems are like riddles and we should just figure out how to solve them and understand them. Open-ended questions, helped me understand every single detail in the text and made me improve my critical and creative thinking.

What do I need to or wish to learn? I wish to learn more about writing and improve my word choice., since I really use weak transition words and vocabulary in my writings and normal paragraphs.

This year’s support class had helped me a lot with improving my skill. I am so honored and glad that we had this opportunity to learn and discuss new information together. I developed and learned a lot of new information I never considered before. I have learned how to annotate essays, and poems way more clearly than I did before. The support class has improved many skills of mine. From the first session, I noticed that I am developing my knowledge. Learning how to choose the right answer out of all of the choices helped me a lot during the exams. My peer’s comments made my essay more specific and understandable for those who never read the original text before. Thank you Miss Auhood for your hard work.
