I decided to read this book because I am extremely fascinated by RBG.  She was the second woman appointed to the US Supreme court, and she has helped fight discrimination and change laws in our country.  If it weren't for her efforts, things would be different. Today I read the book Front Desk by Kelly Yang. I really like this book because it can have a lot of drama in it and sometimes it can make the book more exciting to read. 

What I read today:
Today I read how Mia (The main character) got a grade on her writing test she didn't like. (The grade was a C-) Her family had moved from China and had been working at a motel and couldn't afford a lot so Mia wanted to help out the family. She saw that an older couple had been trying to sell a motel in Vermont for $300. Mia thought she would enter a writing competition. If she won the writing competition then she could get the motel in Vermont. But as soon as she saw the grade on her writing project she thought she couldn't do it. She then told Lupe (Mia's best friend) and Lupe didn't want that to happen because Mia was her best and only friend.

Today I read the book The sisters selfie awareness by Cazenove and William Murray I like this book because it is full of humor. It also gives a perspective of what it is like to have a older or younger sister. (Even though I already have a younger brother.) 

The sisters are Wendy who is a teenager and Maureen who is about 7. They always end up in a fight.
 
Also the book is a graphic novel, I love graphic novels, they let me picture what is happening and what the characters look like. 

The book is split into to parts.  actually that doesn't explain it very well. But it does give you an idea of where this place is. so far the characters have completed missions in two of the five kingdoms and are heading on to the third Kingdom. is called  Zinepolis, it is the most technology advanced of all of the five kingdoms. There in an a resistance group called The Unseen which is fighting against the evil King.Hey, wait a minute I haven't even told you who the characters are. The main character is  Cole, who is from Arizona but got sent to the  outskirts. he's trying to rescue his friends who were sold as slaves. But they were scattered across the five kingdoms so he's trying to find them. I really like this book because I really enjoy fantasy.

The main character is Nate and his friends Francis and Teddy. Nate's enemy is Artur an Gina. Gina is always talking about her good grades. And everyone like Artur.

This book is also split into parts and they are very brief. Today I read the book Front Desk by Kelly Yang
What happened was...
Hank applied for a job interview as a security guard at a mall. (Hank is one of Mia's friends) Hank got fired from his first job working at the gas station because a customer's car got stolen (It was a bright green Thunderbird.) Hank got fired because everyone thought it was him even though it wasn't. So when Mia found out that Hank was writing a letter to apply for a job she got really excited. 
        Later what happened was Mia and Lupe went to Mr. Lorenz's house (The persons car that got stolen the green Thunderbird) and then they wanted to talk with him that they hadn't found it. Right as they were talking to him about how they hadn't found the car the car pulled up on the driveway! Then as soon as Mia and Lupe saw that they sprang up and tried to get out of his house. They then were making excuses to get out of his house like, "we have a lot of work"

then Mr. Lorenz said ,"if you say one word about what you saw I'm going to find you." Then that was the last part I read.

Today what I read about was how Libby (the main character) had tried to make friends at lunch. She saw two girls sitting together one had on a NASA shirt so Libby thought that they were cool. When she went over to talk to them they didn't seem very friendly to Libby. Then in the next chapter I read Libby talked about how she wanted to win the competition so she could help her sister Nonny and brother in law Thomas. The prize in the competition is a lot of money. Libby thinks that will really help them out because they are really struggling. Libby just want's her sister's baby to be healthy. In the next chapter I read Libby did something very weird and showed how to not make friends. What happened was, Libby went back into the library to eat lunch. She says her best friend is the library so she always eats lunch in there. Then the new girl Talia was there. Talia was also sitting in the spot that Libby usually sits in. So Libby walks over and sees that Talia is on her phone. So she looks at her phone and sees a name of a Rapper and asks Talia if it's a band. Today what I read about was how Amanda and her friend Stephanie were hanging out together. When they were hanging out together Stephanie was trying to get Amanda to do her back hand spring. Amanda was trying to stall so she wouldn't have to do her back handspring. Stephanie knew what Amanda was trying to do. (Amanda is the main character and Stephanie is one of Amanda's best friends.) Later when Stephanie had to go because Amanda's mom told her it was time to go Amanda was talking to her mom. Her mom had planned a Hollywood Movie themed party. Amanda doesn't really want that to be the theme. (In the chapter that I read today the next day was Amanda AND Leo's birthday) (Leo= Amanda's ex-best friend.) Later when Amanda is talking to her mom about the party and who RSVPed to the party Amanda found out Leo was invited. She got really upset about that. Then again, later that night Amanda went through a birthday party photo album. Her mom took one photo from each birthday of Amanda and Leo's birthday.  Amanda then has a flashback of how her and Leo were no longer friends. She had the flashback because she remembered her 10th birthday. I like this book because it is telling the story a wonderful way and I can really see what is happening, and there are also some pictures with great illustrations.

I just started this book so I can't tell you much about it but I'll read the book jacket.
