He is also striving to be the first American track and field Paralympian who qualifies for the able -bodied Olympic trials.
In June of 2018, running in a field of able-bodied runners, he shattered his own world record in the 400 meters, coming in at 44.42, the fastest time ever by an amputee.

She learned other methods of communication, including Braille and a method known as Tadoma, in which hands on a person's face touching lips, throat, jaw and nose are used to feel vibrations and movements associated with speech. Keller, too, learned to speak.

She ​was the first deafblind person to earn a Bachelor of Arts degree, she wrote a total of twelve published books, she campaigned heavily for women’s rights and other labour rights, and was also awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom by Lyndon Johnson in 1964.

Her young mother placed her in a Russian orphanage and fortunately, she was adopted by an American family when she was 13 months old.
She required 25 different surgeries to help her leg condition, but unfortunately, both of her legs had to be amputated (or removed) when she was just 18 months old.

She is special and unique because she is a champion by all definitions of the word. She is one of the world’s most decorated swimmers.  Jessica was the youngest athlete, at 12 years old, to win a Paralympics medal and she is now on a mission to inspire the next generation of Paralympic athletes.
