Emilie: Charles John Huffam Dickens was as you already know an English writer and social critic. He lived in the 19th century. He was born in February 1812 and passed away in June 1870. Many people see and/or think of him as one of the greatest novelist of the Victorian Era. Some of Dickens most well known notable works is: the pickwick papers,Oliwer Twist, Nicholas Nickleby, A christmas carol, David Copperfield, bleak house, little dorrit, a tale of two cities and great expectations. His novels did`nt normally use more than a month or a week to install. He often modified his plot and character development based on feedback as such: his works is narrative fiction. Charles was regarded as the literary colossus of his age. His literary success began back in 1836 when he wrote a serial publication of the pickwick papers. Within a few years later than that publication he was know for his humour, satire, and keen observation of character and society.

Mia: Charles had ten kids at the end of his living years. Three of them were girls, and the rest, which is seven, were boys. There names were: Girls: Mary, Kate and Dora Dickens. Boys: Charles Dickens JR, Walter Landor, Francis, Alfred D`Orsay, Henry Fielding, and Edward Dickens. Charles Dickens JR was the first child of the great novelist Charles Dickens. Mary was the eldest daughter of Charles and Cathrine Dickens. Her nickname was: Mamie. Kate was also an English painter of the Victorian Era, including that she also was the daughter of Charles. Kate was according to her siblings her fathers favorite child. Her nickname was: Lucifer Box, beacuse of her hot temper. Walter Landon Dickens was named after his godfather Walter Savage Landon. He was the fourth child and second son of Charles and Cathrine Dickens. Francis was nicknamed "Chickenstalker" by his father, after one of the characters in his book called the chimes. He actually wrote the chimes during the time Cathrine was pregnant with Francis. Francis can also be called Frank for short, by those who knew him. Alfred was nicknamed: Sampson Brass, and Skittles by his father. We decided just to tell you a little bit about these kids, beacuse we thought they had cooler names and sounded more fun to learn about.

Maiken: Cathrine, nicknamed Kate or Katey was Charles Dickens youngest surviving daughter. As already mentioned she was according to her siblings her fathers favorite child. Her first husband was the artist and author Charles Allston Collins, which was the younger brother of Wilkie Collins. Kate and Charles married in 1860. In 1873 Charles Allston died of cancer. Charles father put them in an economic crisis. When Charles was ten years old his family had to move ti London, to try to solve their problems. Charles older sister got a scholarship for a music school, meanwhile Charles had to quit school to help his family. He had to work ten hours a day.
