However, about 10 years ago, I'm not sure that I would have answered similarly. My mindset has changed based on my experiences and what I've learned from others in my professional learning network. This impacts me as a teacher because I am a lot less likely to just accept that a student cannot learn. I believe that this is partially due to having two parents involved in the school system. My dad would sometimes say that some of his students weren't doing good in his class, because they weren't trying to learn. I guess somehow in my head I connected that if I work hard and put in the effort, I will always be able to learn something. I knew I needed to motivate  myself and have good time management skill in order to do well in school and balance activities I was involved in. I was surprised by my results because I have always thought I was certain about learning more about the latest research into how the brain works, but I have to admit I do need more confidence in learning how to use technology accurately and correctly. I believe the impact that my mindset will have on me as a teacher will be challenged. Back in high school there is no way I would've gotten these results. I always used to convince myself that I could never get better at science or math because it was hard for me. I tended to excel in Psychology and Art because I thought I was better at those subjects, when really I was just probably more interested and encouraged/praised in those things. As a teacher I will keep this in mind and know that praising students can go a long way and spending extra time with students who are struggling will also go a long way.

I am not sure I would have gotten these results had I taken the test in high school or even during my first two years of college. I am glad I have developed this mindset so I can encourage students who, like I previously did, think there are certain subjects they are just good and bad at and are unmotivated because of this.

I do believe that people are born with different amounts of natural ability: however, there are as many people who aren't at the same level as everyone else in certain areas who do succeed as there are many people who have natural ability who don't do anything to develop what they have. For example, when it comes to being a musician, certain people have more aptitude for things like echoing back pitches or for memorization.
