There are 2 levels of instruction - Level 5 and Level 6. Course completion is determined by the CASAS Goals test.

It is part of the Adult Education Program - classes are $30.

It provides advanced instruction for students who may already have a high school diploma (by passing the GED® or by graduating from a K-12 High School or Adult High School) and have a goal of preparing for postsecondary education and employment.

Students earn 3 credits towards a degree for each EAP class in Levels 5 and 6.

Each credit at FSCJ costs approximately $116.

EAP classes are 3-credit classes, so each EAP class costs approximately $350 + the cost of textbooks.

To study full-time (3 or 4 classes each semester), the cost for a semester would be between $1,000 and $1,500.

• Reading Level 5

• Writing Level 5

• Grammar Level 6

= 12 credits = $1,400 + textbooks

They provide intermediate to advanced instruction in small, customized classes.

There is no placement testing, so there may be a range of skill level among the students.

Homework is provided for additional practice but is not required.

Students are guided by an ESOL instructor to complete CWE certificate classes that can lead to a state license. The curriculum is challenging but supported.
