This song related to the war because it talks about being drafted into the war. The lyrics of the song tell the story of a young man who played the trumpet and was drafted into the military at a young age during WWII. At first he was sad because he couldn't play with his band anymore. So his captain goes out and drafts more jazz musicians to play with him. Then he's happy because he can jam with a band again and go to sleep with boogie every night. The song really showed that any young man could be drafted into the war.

The Andrews Sisters consisted of three sisters, Patty, Maxene and LaVerne. Around the 1940s, they were America's most popular female singers. Patty was loud and energetic and seemed to lead the group with her confidence. She was also the youngest sister. Maxene, the second youngest, had harmonic range and gave the impression of four singers, rather than three. LaVerne, the oldest, had the greatest sense of humor and had the most fashion.

This song related to the war because it it mentioned the war right in the song. Talking about a young man who had a passion for playing the trumpet. He was drafted into the military, and then couldn't play anymore. Soon after, his captain drafts more musicians and he is able to play again. He is then happy because he can play with the boogie every night. It really gave an insight and realization about how you cannot predict when and how old you will be when you are drafted into the war.
