Germany used to be divided among hundreds of states that were kind of united in some way. Austria was the most powerful state in the Holy Roman Empire, but the Reformation caused Austria’s power to slowly vanish. During the Napoleonic War, Germany tried to stop the rivalry between Prussia and Austria. Bismark took advantage of the crisis in Denmark to claim the land. This resulted in war. Then Bismark started another war with Austria, forcing the states to be more divided.

Between 1810 and 1821, Mexico fought a long battle for independence against Spain. When Napoleon invaded Spain it caused many outbreaks of revolts all across Spanish America. This caused Hidalgo to lead the Mexican War of Independence. Although Hidalgo had some success, he got captured and beheaded. After he was killed, Jose Maria, Mariano, and Guerreo took over his leadership. When liberals took power in Spain, and promised Mexico a new government. Mexico asked for independence. After all the war, and thanks to Hidalgo, Mexico got their independence.
