The ancient marvel stands 756 feet long on each side, 481 feet high, and is composed of 2.3 million stones weighing nearly 3 tons each.

The Pyramids are shaped as a reference to the rays of the sun. Most pyramids had a polish, highly reflective white limestone surface, to give them a shining appearance when viewed from a distance.

Many of the Pyramids were built with a number of different stone materials. Most of the material was fairly rough, low grade limestone used to build the pyramid core, while fine white limestone was often employed for the outer casing as well as to cover the interior walls, though pink granite was also often used on inner walls.

Limestone was quarried at Giza and possibly other sites. Granite likely came from upriver at Aswan.

In 1378 BC, some Egyptians made offerings to the Great Sphinx in the hope of controlling the food cycle, which would result in a successful harvest. Sa'im al-Dar destroyed the nose of the Sphinx and was later executed.

The Shaheed Minar monument in Dhaka, Bangladesh was built to remember those who died during the Bangladesh Language Movement. While students from Dhaka University and Medical college were protesting with police and political activists on 21st and 22nd February 1952 were killed by the Pakistani police for demanding official status of their native language, Bengali. The massacre occurred near Dhaka Medical College and Ramna Park in Dhaka. A makeshift monument was put up on 23rd February by students of Dhaka medical college and other schools and colleges, but soon demolished on 24th February[ by the Pakistani police force. After a long struggle, the Language Movement gained popularity and Bengali gained official status in Pakistan (with Urdu) in 1956. In remembrance of the dead, the Shaheed Minar monument was designed and built by Bangladeshi sculptors Hamidur Rahman and Novera Ahmed. Construction was delayed by martial law(The military stopping construction temporarily), but the monument was finally completed in 1963, and stood until the Bangladesh Liberation War in 1971, when it was demolished completely during the war. Lingga and Yoni both resemble in 2 very important traditional and cultural Indonesian tools: 'alu rice pestle' and 'lesung rice mortar'. Lingga and Yoni also represent harmony, balance, fertility and eternal life. They also resemble the bloom of the famous 'Amorphophallus Titanium' which is native to Indonesia's culture.

In the outer yard of the Monas are the reliefs of Indonesia's history. The story of the reliefs begins in the north-eastern corner which is where the events during eras such as the Singharasi and Majapahit empires are described. The historical reliefs represent the European Colonialization of the Indonesian island, the various popular and local uprisings, the modern Indonesian organizations from the early 20th century, the Japanese occupation for World War II, the declaration of Independence as well as the post-independence development.

The stone city of Petra- (Ali) Petra is believed have been established in 312 BC. The name Petra originates from the Greek word 'petro’s' meaning rocks; Petra is also called the 'Rose City' due to the color of its rocks, which take on a red-pink hue at sunset and sunrise. In 2007, this historic place was named as one of the New Seven Wonders of the World; this place is simply extraordinary with a view of a 5 star hotel. You can feel the wind run past you while walking through Petra. The ancient ruins are absolutely gorgeous, there are opportunities to sleep under the stars and have a great time with your friends and family.

The Vellore Fort is in South India and has been passed into the hands of four groups of people including the British.

In 1806 the British used it to station two regiments of the Madras Army plus four regiments from the British.

It also marks the Vellore Mutiny(first military rebellion in India) that took place on 10th July 1806 where Indian sepoys killed 15 officers and 100 British soldiers. It was put down at noon. It's a bit like the Stono rebellion except this happened when India was still under the British rule.

It shows how much India valued their freedom and also that younger generations could learn how to value it too.

It has a deep wet ditch for a moat where 10,000 crocodiles would be ready to attack any intruder. The fort houses a temple, mosque, church and many public offices including Tamil Nadu's oldest police training center.

The fort's also housed many prisoners over history and marks some bloody events but now it's open to exploring tourists and is maintained by the Archaeological society of India. It's a fort that brings forth a ton of history(which is a bit bloody) for others to learn and be proud of.
