The sun shone brightly in the beautiful sky but, Firetail had no time to look at any thing good. She ran as fast as she could because, behind her were two crazy dogs. They ran into the forest, when finally dogs stopped the chase. But Firetail didn't know that they stopped so, she ran and ran. When she finally stopped running Firetail didn't know were she was. Firetail is a black-and-white cat with green eyes and, a scar across her right leg. Her parents disappeared when she was just a kitten so, she got into the animal shelter. And obviously she ran away from there on the first day. The rest of her life she stole food from the fancy restorans and ran away from dogs. Now let's come back to her in the forest. Firetail stood on a fallen tree and looked around, this place was unfamiliar. When suddenly she heard a noise coming from behind. She quickly turned around but, too late. Firetail only saw a flash of gray before someone jumped on top of her. She knew that she would have to fight. When she was just ready to turn around and fight, she felt that someone that jumped on her, got off of her back, and now probably standing behind her. Firetail turned around in anger and saw a cat. A dirty gray cat with brown eyes.

''Do you need help?'' asked the white cat. "Who are you?''asked Firetail. ''I'm Snowbreath.'' purred the cat. ''And I'm Firetail.'' meowed Firetail. While cats were talking,wolfs were sitting around the fire, next to the cage. The skinny wolf that tried to bite Firetail, asked the black wolf. ''Why do we need those cats?'' The black wolf thinked for a second and roared. '' They might be useful...''Dirtpaw scratched the floor of the cage but, nothing happened. The wolfs soon fell asleep. The night had come. But, cats didn't sleep. Snowbreath was playing with the lock on the cage, when suddenly, something clicked and, the cage door opened. Firetail and Dirtpaw were shocked. Snowbreath smiled and helped Firetail stand up. ''How???'' whispered Dirtpaw shockingly. ''I'm just good at it.'' purred Snowbreath shyly. ''Stop talking!'' whispered Firetail angrily, ''We are going to get caught!'' Cats crept out of the cage and, ran into the forest. Firetail had to walk because of her back leg. Where the wolf had bit her, little drops of blood were dripping on to the ground. She left a trail of little blood drops going into the forest. As soon as their tails hid behind the tree, black wolf's red eyes opened and, a evil smile appeared on his face.

"Hello.'' said the cat. ''What do you think your doing!?'' hissed Firetail. ''I'm sorry about that, but I'm sure it doesn't hurt that much.'' said the strange cat while rolling his eyes. ''Even if it doesn't hurt, who gave you permission?!'' hissed Firetail again. The cat was nervous, Firetail could tell that. "It's because... um ...you look like a wolf pup... yea ...it was dark so...'' meowed the cat nervously. ''Great, now you're telling me that I look like a wolf.'' Firetail told the cat, ''By the way what's your name?'' The cat was still nervous but, not so much. ''My name is Dirtpaw.'' he meowed ''I live in this forest.'' Both cats sat silently on the ground. Every thing was quiet until, a howl just behind them made both cats jump. It was a wolf. Dirtpaw tried to run but, the wolfs made a circle around them and didn't let him go. There was 5 gray wolfs. ''Well well well, who do we have here." growled a black wolf, stepping out of the shadow. All the wolfs stepped closer to Firetail and Dirtpaw. Both cats hissed but, they could't do anything. ''Catch them.'' howled the black wolf calmly. All wolfs growled and, walked towards Firetail and Dirtpaw. They knew that they had to fight. Teeth, claws, and tails were ready to fight for their life, but nobody knew when to start fighting.

The wolfs finally started to move. One skinny wolf tried to bite Firetail with his teeth but, Firetail responded immediately by scratching him with her claws. Other wolfs tried to catch Dirtpaw. After 3 minutes, Firetail saw that Dirtpaw had tripped and, immediately got pressed to the ground with a big paw. When Firetail saw that, she tried to save him by scratching the wolf that holded Dirtpaw. The wolf didn't respond, instead he bit her leg. Firetail was tired and hurt, all the attacks were unequal. Then the black wolf came. He told something to the wolfs, and they circled Firetail. All the wolfs except the black one, were coming towards her. She stepped back. Wolfs were coming. Finally, she bumped into black wolf's chest. The next thing she remembered was pain in her head and, that some one had picked her up. Then every thing turned black. When she woke up, her paws were tightened with a rope. She laid on the rocks in a cage. Next to her were two other cats. One of them was Dirtpaw. Other one had white soft fur and blue eyes. She sat in the corner and looked at the wolfs. Dirtpaw quickly cut the rope around Firetail, with his teeth. Firetail's leg was hurting her so much so, she couldn't stand up.

Firetail's leg heeled soon so she could run faster. Only sometimes, when she tripped or jumped her leg really hearted her. ''What should we do?'' asked Dirtpaw. ''We?'' asked Snowbreath. ''I don't know but, the wolfs might already found out that we disappeared so, we should run away as far as possible and not talk.'' hised Firetail, ''And it's your decision if you want join us in running away from wolfs.'' She was so angry, so she didn't even notice two red eyes, in the shadow. The cats were arguing so, nobody saw the black wolf getting out of his hiding place. He stood behind Dirtpaw ready to attack, when... "MRAARRR!!!''...a flash of orange fur jumped onto the wolfs head. "Grrrrraaaarrrr!!'' he roared. Wolf yelped. The pain was strong.
