I´m choosing the memory about love on (page 153-154) because it was The Giver´s favorite one. He gave Jonas this memory because Jonas experienced pain too much. 1. Use chp 3, pg 29, read 1st full paragraph and answer--What does this detail suggest about the role of the announcements in Jonas’s community? Be specific and support your answer.
YOUR ANSWER-- The Speaker make announcements to inform the people of the community of wrongdoings, events and dangers. Author view point= to publicly shame people so they obey the rules.

2. Jonas’s community is highly regulated with rules. Read the sections about the rule against bragging (34). Answer and support-- What is the rule’s purpose in the community? Why does it exist? What impact does the rule have on the community?
YOUR ANSWER-- When someone brags it makes you feel like they are better than you and you feel bad. The rule exists so people don´t think they are better than others. The impact on the community is the people won´t feel bad about themselves or better than other people.
3. Which narrative point of view (POV) is used in The Giver? Use pg 67 to support your answer with text evidence with the sentence from the novel that proves the POV you chose.
YOUR ANSWER-- 3rd person limited because on pg.66-67 the author  write, ´Jonas was certainly glad that that Assignment was taken ...´

Use p. 82: How does Jonas feel upon leaving the auditorium? Which words make you think that? (support your answer)
YOUR ANSWER-- Jonas felt separate different because he remembered what the Chief Elder said ´´That the training would be alone and apart´´. Jonas thinks he will have no one with him. (pg.82)

How has Jonas’s attitude shifted slightly in chapter twelve? Make sure to explain your answer using details from the text. Use chapter 12.  HINT-Keep this in mind as you think about a new symbol to symbolize Jonas in the Middle of the Novel.

YOUR ANSWER-- Jonas saw the color red that symbolized his increasing memory. Jonas attitude is shifted because he is getting wisdom.(pg.119-)
