I think this because in every action scene there is, you can feel what is going on. If the book was being read to you, you would be able to close your eyes and imagine the scene so well. Yes she has very good dialogue. There are many scenes where they are just talking and talking but you don't get bored of reading it because she sctrucers her diologe very well. Angie does also give flashbacks of Starr’s memoir and sometimes starts the chaperter off in the middle of the action then she gives flashbacks on what happened to cause that action to happen.

Using the word chandelier adds a positive and sophisticated mood to this section of the story.  
The author used the phrase fancy chandelier so we can learn how Esperanza's great-grandfather views her great-grandmother. We learn that he loved her and really wanted to marry her. He values her and sees her as a delicate, elegant, desirable woman. The message would have been significantly different if the author said, “As if she were a sack of potatoes.”

Yes they have created suspense for some of the chapters but most of them are the days going on and on nothing really happening the story is just flowing along. The dialogue is OK on the good side  she doesn't use boring words like "he said" and used more words that match the whole mood. The authors word choice is not tat good but i get why it's not good because most of the dialogue i coming from a hood person and they talk more street that proper. The figurative language in this book is not as common its not that it's bad but this book doesn't really have figurative language. They entered the garage and started to hear the beat once they heard it Bri was getting ready to start rapping but her aunt got a phone call and she quickly dropped everything and said she had something to go due but Bri knew it was a drug deal she had to go do.
