The depth of field in this photograph is wide which could show all the details in the picture. Hannah used her own body as a subject. In her photography, she wanted to bring attention to women's rights & the female experience, challenging viewers to reconsider their preconceived notions about femininity, the body & sexuality.

Photography Project

Conflict x Freedom

In the aftermath of Israel’s invasion of Palestine, many civilians have suffered and been forced to flee their homes. There have been many deaths among family members and friends, as well as home losses. Throughout my images, I demonstrate the power of defense by civilians from different countries who have shown support through protest & boycotting, which i would say is a response to the theme of subjectity, objectivty & power. Also, i have shown some emotions in the images to illustrate how the conflict affected the civilian population. As well as the strength of children who stood confidently up to soldiers without fear. which shows their commitment to their lands.

There was a connection between freedom and experiencing a toxic environment in my first idea, but it was in a very different way but it was kind of like a similar idea since freedom had a connection with being exposed to a toxic environment, but I got stuck trying to develop my idea. I felt it was quite complicated, so I've decided to go with the idea of the conflict because it also raises awareness & demonstrates what the country is going through right now.

The child's picture has been positioned in the center of the picture, which has led viewers to become more engaged in the story. By placing each picture separately and from a kind of distance from the viewer, we can demonstrate to the viewer how people are supporting each other from a distance, even though they are far away from the country's borders.

Using a double exposure for the images, I was able to convey the switch of two different emotions and by having the pictures in black and white it seemed to be more fitting for the subject matter since it appeared to have a more connected image.
