The website functioned as a platform through which individuals may be convinced of adopting pet animals as opposed to purchasing them from illegal and unethical sources. The page convinces the audience of such a decision via the utilisation of layout and website features. For example, as soon as the page is opened you are met with a closeup image of a cute kitten which appeals to the psychographics of the target audience — Australian pet adopters. Moreover, the text is laid out such that we are shown reasons why pet adoption works, then why the pet needs to be adopted, and the benefits for adoption for their animal and the carer. This showcases adequate arguments to convince people to adopt pets.

As we go through the article we can see key conventions like the ‘Find a Friend” hyperlink that functions as a Call-To-Action button urging people to consider adoption, since it redirects you to their website detailing where to adopt a pet from in Australia. The headings, like, “Benefits for the animal and the carer” help with the readability of the article by distinguishing certain sections from others, allowing it to flesh out its features in a clear manner. Furthermore, the use of a clear orange font helps make the text readable. Together, these features contribute to the website and its persuasion of information regarding the adoption of pets.
