Puritanism

Puritanism is the reform or movement occurred in the Church of England and started by migrating to the New World (America) to establish colonies like the Massachusetts Bay Colony in 1620. They had beliefs including Calvinism. Believed some who follow Calvinism will be gifted while the others will be sinned if they don't follow. They also had a theocracy which the government blends state within the church. Also focused on a "City Upon a Hill Theory" that they pictured will be a heavenly place or utopia where God will be centered in that city and mostly education which created prestigious schools like Harvard, Brown, Yale, etc.

Witchcraft Hysteria

The Witch Hysteria in Salem was mostly believed caused by Satan, or the Devil which leads to bad luck, symptoms, diseases and troubles going on in the village. Also believed about the Satan that the witches and wizards worked for him. They also accused witches which led to more people accusing witches for no reason. They also had an influence and one of them was from Tituba along with teenagers being bored. It was also caused by old feuds between accusers and disputes.

Witch Trials

The Witch Trials sometimes caused by girls who weren't feeling well or were feeling sick with pain and stress going on in them. This led to an increase in examination of the girls from the doctors seeing that whether or not they were witches and some believed that witches targeted children. This again resulted in more and more accusers accusing witches because of that situation. More witches were being accused and in 1692, around 200 people were being accused and were in jail. This led to the hysteria strikes of witches.

McCarthyism

McCarthyism was led by McCarthy who spread evil things including Communism. This led to thousands of Americans being accused of being Communism. This situation almost exactly relates to the Witch Trials that reminded about witches in the past of being accused. Some people were put into trial to see whether or not they are Communist. This was famous which was from Arthur Miller who compared this to the Witch Trials.

Calvinism

This relates to Puritanism where they believed in total depravity that Adam and Eve sinned everyone, predestination where only the "elect" was chosen from God. Also had limited atonement that God sacrificed only for the "elect" and grace which is the free gift of salvation. They also believed that the Devil, or Satan, was around due to witchcraft and witches existed.
