At the age of 2 my own dog, who had been incredibly active, long runs everyday, and a flyball competitor, became intolerant to exercise. It was discovered that she had two defects within her heart. An extremely enlarged right ventricle which impaired her heart function and ECG readings ranging from zero, where her heart actually stops to way off the scale deemed as within normal range, in fact more than double the higher rate of 140 bpm. I have no idea how this will affect her lifespan. Before this defect was discovered, she had several seizures. There is no medication, but she has to lead a limited life exercise and stress wise, a good diet, other stimuli to replace exercise and sometimes some natural, calming therapies to alleviate stressful situations.
