      <title>Big Idea: Nutrition/Hunger - Grade 2 by Welsh, Crystal E</title>
      <link>https://padlet.com/cewelsh/ki8l2a29qqvjrjv</link>
<description>The big idea that I chose to help cultivate critical literacy is Nutrition/Hunger. My goal is to take students through four subtopics that will help lead them to the concept of focus: Child Hunger in America. I will start off by helping them develop a well-rounded idea of what it means to eat well. Next, we will explore Food Distribution. This will lead us to the next subtopic: Food Insecurity. The books chosen will define what it means to be food insecure and how that can affect multiple areas of your life. The last subtopic encourages students to Take Action towards helping to reduce and eliminate child hunger in America. The age range I have chosen for this multimodal text set is second grade.</description>
