The Incas were a civilization in many ways. One example of this is in their social class system, that is the emperor and immediate family, nobles, and commoners, which means they are a civilization because different people have different amounts of power. Another example of how the Incas were a civilization is that they had different jobs and built different things. Their different jobs included builders, farmers, craftsmen, and foot soldiers. Things they built included building irrigation canals, flat fields to farm on, suspension bridges, roads, walls, ramps, buildings, stairs, and other things. This shows that they are a civilization because they worked to build organized things that gave them shelter, transportation, food, and water.

Since they had so much land, it was very important that they had messangers to deliver messages, and without the roads, the messangers would be lost and in pain. It states in the text(, "To manage their far-flung holdings Inca leaders came to rely on a system of roads." This shows how since there was so much land, they needed roads to talk to people elsewhere. It also shows that the Incas relyed on the roads, which makes them a very important part of the Incan empire.

The incas have many belief, One of their beliefs are the pysical religion, They belified in sacred objects and places called huacas, the preists also belified that when they would sacrifice corn and burn it in to a fire to feed the sun god to make him rise. se

Mason Gist:Pg 294-295 Incas had many interesting customs. Everyone in a village or town would have a different job. The Inca's use things called Ally's to help the communities tie together like a household, sometimes with thousand of people. 1/3 of income supported temples, 1/3 to the king, and 1/3 for themselves. The Inca's had no currency do taxes were done in labor or by selling goods. Boys would look after the animals and help in the fields, whereas girls would cook, fetch water,make clothing, weave, and take care of the babies.Children of commoners would not receive education only very rich people. Most people were allowed to choose who they married, but some were chosen. The Inca's were very religious, and offered the gods anything they could.The Incas practiced human sacrifice, sometimes on children. The most beautiful women were chosen from a young age to learn to cook special food, studied religion, and then lived in convents.
