The different strategies and genres of writing that I could use in my future classroom.  When it comes to writing there are several ways to do it and these have to do with a series of particularities and purposes. That is, the author, through his texts, seeks a purpose with the reader. The texts that we find can be of many types and to learn to identify them, we must first know what literary genres are. Literary genres serve to define the set of characteristics that a literary work possesses. These are specific regarding its structure and content. By maintaining these, it is possible to identify the creation within a specific category since it follows a series of common criteria. For example, when it comes to poems Jacqueline Woodson with her poem "Failing" has taught me that number can also be included in a poem to express a feeling or emotion in the reader.

In the same way with narratives pieces of writing, the main point is to transmit an emotion or feeling. But, before anything, writers have to be inspired to come up with the topic. And thanks to the author Elva Trevino from the book "Stories of a migrant child" that inspired me to create my narrative piece. It is always useful to have mentor texts to guide and inspire you to create new pieces of writing. It is always a good idea to implement in students the love of reading to be able to create successful pieces of writing. And to be able to do that, I learned that students have to connect and be able to implement ideas from different sources of mentor texts that they have read.

This particular assignment made understand and appreciate the other side of writing. It helped me connect the feelings I had from previous memories.
