Why should the students decide to get out of their comfort zone (be active, take risks, take decisions, accept failure as a learning step to try again,...) if there is no valid reasons to do that?

The project, the challenge must be a real one and a project or a challenge they care about: it's not just about being a good student, it's not just about doing what is expected out of a sense of duty: these were probably my generation values. For the 21st century students the task and the challenge is bigger, and it is now.

One of my classes is a TED-ed club, another one has started the two-year project "impresa formativa simulata" , the younger students in the second year are involved in an etwinning project.

Organize a field trip to a natural area. I really enjoy basing my teaching practice on projects. I start by launching the overall theme of the project and then brainstorm with the students to come up with subtopics that are then developed into collaborative work. I try not to just sum up the theory. I try that all the work they do has a concrete connection to the world of work, to real life. It is the students who establish the contacts (phone calls, emails or work sessions) with all the partners that can make a positive contribution to the development of their projects. To conclude, I leave students completely at ease to decide their final product and dissemination model.

For my science lessons I can ask my students to brainstorm about what project they would like to create within their groups. I will present them with some options; for example: something that moves without wheels, something that surprises others, etc... Then I will ask them to list all their ideas and to choose one. At a later stage the group members have to decide how to bring the materials needed. Then in another session they can create the science projects within their groups and finally present it to their peers and create an evaluation about it. Students can then give constructive feedback to each other to analyse what they could have changed to make the project better or to improve it.

The topic will be: "Story telling: how I see myself in 2027". I think that every lesson should trigger interest with open ended questions and some reflection time. Students should be given some time in group to discuss the possible answers to a question and present them to other groups. Listening to each other and assessing answers from other peers will help give constructive and positive feedback. Peer assessment /teaching are great ways of boosting active learning.

I think students become motivated when they see value in what they are learning. When contents are clearly in line with their ultimate values or ideals. Students can find satisfaction in learning when their curiosity about a topic or skill level is improved. WE have just completed a Close the Gap Awareness day which creates greater awareness amongst our communities about the difference in life expectancies, health outcomes, access to education and employment differences between our indigenous and non-indigenous peoples. The students came up with a number of ideas on how they can deliver this information to the rest of the school community. they were encouraged to develop and deliver every main idea, analyse how it was received by the community and reflect on its effectiveness. It resulted in very hearty discussion about the process and strategies they could work with next time. They were not told 'No' once so all ideas were theirs to claim and then to reflect on concerning its success.

The last week my classroom have participated to school competitive exam " La Peranzana racconta", imagining a series of story, poems, rhyme, spots and videos about our typical extra virgin oil. The students were encouraged to find original ideas and brainstorm solutions at these questions:
1. Our extra-virgin oil is just an oil to eat?
2. How we can promote different products obtained by our oil?
3. How we can launch our new product on the market?

I will propose a brainstorming about "the school of your dream".
Then I will propose an activity of Design thinking applied to our school. In which ways they would like to modify it?
After that I will divide them in small groups and ask them to create a common project, starting from the discussion of their Design thinking projects.

I will start by asking students what problems they see in the school that annoys them, and together think about a way to solve them.
Give them freedom to express their ideas. Then choose a couple of suggestions and work on them one by one using Design Thinking. And the answers will show up as they use their inventiveness.

On mondays we have automation engineering course. I can trigger a virtual system fault and I will ask from my students to identify what might be the cause of the problem (brainstorm in the blackboard). The same way, I will ask for possible solutions. Then, with some system's data we will eliminate some causes/solutions to find the right one and solve the problem.

I like the idea of letting our students think about real topics which belong to their lives and interests. That's why I will start tomorrow a brainstorm of which souvenir could we make to give to our Erasmus partners that are coming next May. they will have to take into account the costs of the material, they volume as they should have to packed inside their luggage, something that represents our country ... Our students start their own businesses in school when they are 15 years old, we use the whole wheel. But before that we are working in a lot of projects. Environment, Health, Games, Identity, Sexuality and love etc. We let them have different approaches to the projects, different perspective and different ways of communicating what they have learnt. Therefore we always have many ideas ongoing in classroom and even if we don´t have project, we always let the students have hypotheses. In history, in geography and so on. I always encourage the students to guess, to have an idea.

At the end of each school year, we organize classroom discussions to evaluate school culture and school organization. The members of the Pupil Council in each class moderate this discussion, together with their tutor. In the meetings with the Pupil Council, the members will create a 'photo evaluation': they visualize 'warm spots' and 'cold spots' at school, based on the information they received from their peers. The members of the Pupil Council's Board present this photo evaluation collage to all staff members during the last staff meeting of the school year. Ours is a new school and we have different open areas which still needs to be utilised in a effective way. I one of my class We brainstormed and discussed about possible ways we can effectively use those open spaces. The students came up with idea of growing our own herbs and vegetables so the school can save some money. Which was really a good idea as it blended with our next topic 'life cycle of a plant' . To add in uncertainty, I told the students that we cannot use the vegetables for the lunch at school, what do we do in that case. Students came with the idea that we can sell the vegetables to the families and earn some for our class trip.

In order to implement entrepreneurial learning, I would give my students a "Success story". An inspirational story about people that succeeded in life and/or career. I would guide them through the Engino Company website http://www.engino.com/
and comment on the only Cypriot toy company. I will then give them some of the Engino Toys to play and build. Then I will talk about the Engino founder. A teacher that quit his job in order to create his own company! And he succeeded !
I believe that success stories are a very good way of showing the students that people following their dreams and be goal orientated can succeed in live and offer something innovative!
