Went to Guatemala

In the summer of freshman year, I was able to go to Guatemala and meet my family members that I have never met before. When we were over there, we did a lot of things and tried new things. One of my favorite things we did was go to the beach/coast. I loved going there because even if we went to go work with my grandparents, we went to the nearest river and the water was always warm and relaxing to be in and just swim. Some part further away from their land, it was the beach. There are many restaurants at the beach but, they each had their own pool and attractions. I would say that my favorite thing I ate in Guatemala was a granizada. It is like a snow cone, but they use fruit juice and bananas with lechera and then peanuts on top.

After studying for a whole semester and doing many mock tests and assignments, I was able to take and pass my certification exam. This added on to my first certificate, I was so glad that I was able to get this certificate because a couple of days later, I got emails telling me about jobs that might be a good for me because of the certificate. This just gives me more motivation to pass more exams. Also, after this, my stress levels had gone so much down and since we had to study for two certifications a couple of weeks after the other I got eye strain, and it was quite painful.

CCST/CCNA

The start of the year was great as we had about two whole weeks of being able to get in late and even later on Thursdays. After those two weeks, we had to start our Cisco networking class. I would say that the content that we had was pretty easy throughout the whole semester. However, as we got near the end of our class, Dr. Izadi told us that the program accepted us to take the CCST. He said it would be easy, but we should still study. I wasn't too nervous on the day of the test, for good reason. It was pretty easy and I passed. As we all thought it was over, he told us we still had the final. The CCST was easier as it was just the final of our class, so we knew most of the content. We only needed about 70% to pass, and I think most passed the test and got their first badge.

Grandparents and their Visas.

While I was still in Guatemala I learned that my grandparents had applied to get their visa and in August they had their visa interview a week after we left Guatemala. My parents, aunts and uncles were talking about how much money it would cost and that if they were rejected from getting their visa they would probably try to reapply but sometime later in the future as the money was too much. The second week of September, they were told that my grandparent's visa was approved, and that made everyone happy. As soon as this happened, my dad brought up the same idea of giving money for his parents to apply for a visa and him and his siblings are now working on it and waiting for their interview.

End of Freshmen Year

The end of our first year in high school. It was an enjoyable year and not only did I meet new people, but I learned new things that year. I would say it was an amazing first year of high school. I would say that the shift from freshman year to Sophomore, was pretty noticeable as freshman year was pretty easy, Sophomore year is slightly harder but still easy enough to not have to stress out too much. I think my favorite part of last year was being able to be one of the first cohorts to do more than just stay at school. We were able to go on the most field trips so far and had the hardest cyberpatriot yet still scoring high.
