https://www.lyrics2learn.com/

Reading Comprehension and Fluency Program

How it was found: Was found through observation in a third grade classroom. This was used during "What I need" time. Was used for students that needed help with reading and with fluency. Can be used in groups or individually.

What it is: Lyrics to learn is a reading comprehension and fluency program that uses song lyrics to help grow skills. Lyrics are played on the screen and students are expected to read lyrics out loud and follow along with the song. This can be used in groups or by oneself with headphones on. Songs can be used with a variety of topics from Albert Eisenstein to Plants. Then students answer a series of questions about the song afterwards to test comprehension.

Why it is useful: It is useful because it helps students that are struggling with reading connect reading to a more relatable experience such as music. It also helps students grow with reading skills and reading comprehension.
