In 1936, the liberal government of President Alfonso López Pumarejo carried out an important reform to the 1886 constitution in addition to the creation of the&nbsp; Cedula of Citizenship.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>The father of my paternal grandmother built a house in the Vereda de Santa Lucia which they lived for a long time until he died, then they went to live for a short time in a village that was between San Roque and La Laguna, (according to my grandmother nowadays he thinks he is known or is close to the Meson). After having been there for a while, they returned to Santa Lucia until the death of my great-grandmother, but also until my grandmother met my grandfather and they married in 1956.</div>]]></description>

June 8-9, 1954: Massacre of university students by the Colombia Battalion, June 13: President Rojas inaugurated television in Colombia for which he brought technicians from Cuba, Germany and the United States, on August 3: The Assembly Constituent re-elects Rojas Pinilla as president. Voting rights granted to women.<br>December 1, 1957: Plebiscite approved by the National Front, which alternated power between liberals and conservatives for the next 16 years and the National Learning Service (SENA) was also created.<br>1958 The electoral regime was reinstated and the National Front was formed.<br>January 11, 1960: Assassination of the communist leader Jacobo Prías Alape, beginning of the internal armed conflict in Colombia.          <description><![CDATA[<div>October 12, 2011: Student mobilizations protesting the Higher Education Reform Project presented by the National Government to the Congress of the Republic.<br>September 4, 2012: The Government of Juan Manuel Santos begins new Peace dialogues with the FARC-EP in Havana with Cuba and Norway as mediators, Chile and Venezuela as Overseers and on November 19: The International Court of Justice gives its final judgment on the Litigation between Colombia and Nicaragua. The Court recognizes the Colombian Sovereignty over the Archipelago of San Andrés, Providencia and Santa Catalina as well as all the Keys and Islets belonging to the Archipelago. But it gives Nicaragua a portion of the sea further east of the meridian.<br>August 19, 2013: National Agrarian Strike for the costs of agricultural inputs, the prohibition of natural seeds and the prices affected by the Free Trade Agreements signed.<br>Racism protests in the US<br>Similar cases occurred in 2015 after the young black Michael Brown was killed by a white police officer in 2014. September 26: The signing of the Peace Accords between the Colombian government and the FARC-EP takes place in Cartagena. October 2: The peace plebiscite is held to approve the peace accords, in which the NO won by a narrow margin. On November 28: Crash of La Mia Flight 2933 in La Ceja in Antioquia: 71 dead, most of the Brazilian team Chapecoense, and on December 10: President Juan Manuel Santos receives the Nobel Peace Prize.<br>February 18, 2017: The peace talks between the Colombian government and the ELN begin and on March 31: In the early hours of the morning, three rivers overflow, generating the Mocoa tragedy where the death toll surpassed 300.<br>January 15, 2018: Collapse of the Chirajara Bridge during its construction on the highway to the plain: 9 dead and 8 injured (most of them workers and contractors). Peace Dialogues with the ELN ended. On March 2: Colombia Migration: 1,260,594 people have migrated from Venezuela to Colombia, due to the crisis in Venezuela. On August 29: Iván Márquez, Jesús Santrich and Hernán Darío Velázquez announce a new group of FARC-EP dissidents called Segunda Marquetalia. On November 21: National Strike of 2019-2020 in rejection of the so-called "national package" of the Government of Iván Duque, as well as the breach of the peace agreements, the rejection of the murder of social leaders, corruption and false positives. Assassination of student Dilan Cruz.<br>March 23, 2020: National quarantine decreed by the National Government due to the global health emergency due to the Coronavirus pandemic. On August 4: Former President Álvaro Uribe under house arrest. September 4: Inauguration of the Line Tunnel. September 9-16: Protests in Colombia in 2020 due to police violence. October 10 to November 21: Minga del Suroccidente, arrives in Bogotá. Day of marches to commemorate the 2019 National Strike And the worsening of the conflict with 91 massacres during 2020, the murders of social leaders and ex-combatants of the FARC-EP continue.<br>2021 Covid pandemic and the presentation of the tax reform, since it is reported that in Colombia more than 50 tax reforms have been made since 1897.</div>]]></description>
