These questions included my Critical Question, as well as some multiple-choice responses about people's favorite films and favorite film genres. The survey was sent out on November 29, 2022, and since this post, it has received 24 anonymous responses. 
The aim of the survey was to see what the people on my social media platforms thought about social media, and with the help of Ricky and the Professor, I developed a survey that would not be difficult to fill out. Despite the number of responses being short of my goal, I was indulged by the different responses I received.
First, 18 of the 24 respondents answered the open-ended critical question. Despite the responses being individual, 7 out of 18 (39%) respondents used the word, "entertainment" in their responses. Other common responses included "escape" from reality and "tell stories". When respondents were asked on a scale of 1-10 how cinema has affected their life, 11 out of 24 (46%) respondents chose a score of 9 or 10, with 18 out of 24 (75%) respondents choosing a score of 7 or above! When asked what genre affected them the most, the respondents overwhelmingly voted comedy as their favorite with 7 votes, followed by fantasy and action with 4 votes each, and horror with 3 votes. Surprisingly, out of the 7 genres I listed, all 7 genres got a vote with some respondents voting for their own favorite genres such as animation and "all genres". Furthermore, when respondents were asked about their favorite movie, I received a variety of interesting responses with "Jurrasic Park" and "Star Wars" appearing multiple times as people's favorites. Finally, when asked about the best way to watch movies, the majority of respondents chose the movie theater as the best way, followed by streaming services. 
This survey provided me with a lot of information about how people around me thought about movies. From their responses alone, I know that people love movies because of the entertainment they provide and the stories they tell. Movies like Jurassic park make us feel like we are in another world, and comedy movies make us laugh when nothing else in our lives can.
