Imagism is a form of poetry in which the five senses are described. The author uses descriptive words to get the reader to think deeper. The poem itself doesn't make you think one way or another, it is completely up to you to come up with an opinion. The collection i have created involves an image, painting and poems. the first piece is an image of a cracked egg that gets one to think about inner beauty. The painting shows that there is always color and hope. The poem I created talks about being tired and wanting to go home to sleep. Imagism shows you the descriptive details in the poem, but also makes you think deeper about what is going on.

This poem shows imagism because it makes you visualize headlights shining off of the windshield of a car. The car is driving home from work and the people inside want to go to sleep and leave all the stresses behind after a long day of work. The other way you could take it is that the car wants to shut off after a long day of driving around and it needs to rest. You could either talk about this is a human or personify the car.

This picture just looks like a normal crack in an egg. Behind the crack is the color. The way I look at it is that the crack is the beginning of a personality. The crack has been colored. The crack filled with color is the personality and the true color of the person. You don’t know someone's true colors until they crack and really open up to you. Then you see what is really there personality and what great things are hiding from the everyday world. You wouldn’t know that from looking at the picture.

This poem shows images that make you think it is a calm and peaceful night. You see images of a city and rivers, with cold, white lamps (Lowell). The author writes about what happens in a city and gives you a great image of what is going on. The stanzas help and breaks and help change the voice of the poem. The author is showing love for the moon because even though the city has been lighted by itself, the moon still tries. Another way I took this is that you can't fix something that isn't broken. The city already has a way to create light but the moon doesn't care. They are two different objects doing the same things.

This watercolor painting with pen details, titled Lush, evokes imagism. It looks like bright flowers and it automatically makes me happy just to look at it. The brightness of colors instills hope in me. It makes me think that everything will be okay and that we will just keep growing through things. Just like flowers do. It shows that no matter what, there is hope and beauty in things.
