I do agree with the author that the word refugee is the opposite of insult because being called a refugee means that you did the right thing for yourself or family .  For example immigrants leaving their country because of war .

“A refugee is someone who survived and who can create the future.” This qoute shows readers that refugees are people who survived something, and that they make the future. I think this is telling the reader that people who get through ordeals have their futures shaped because of the stress involved in the ordeals.
