Good friday is a holiday that celebrates jesus death. It is celebrated on March 30th. Eid Ul-Fitr is celebrated because it marks the end of Ramadan, which is a month of fasting and prayer. Also it is first day of the Islamic month of Shawwal. Lastly the holiday Eid al-Adha. Tanzanians wear new clothes, visit family members and friends and may symbolically sacrifice an animal in an act known as qurbani. Celebrated Thursday, August 31-Friday September  1.

Independence day it The day that celebrates the end of British rule in Tanganyika in 1961. It is Tanzania's National Day, a day when the Tanzanian people mark their independence with speeches, parades and flags. It is on december 9th. Tuesday 26 december is boxing day. It originated in the United Kingdom, and is celebrated in a number of countries that previously formed part of the British Empire. Boxing Day is on 26 December, although the attached bank holiday or public holiday may take place either on that day or two days later. Lastly new years is January 1. This day is traditionally a religious feast, but since the 1900s has also become an occasion to celebrate the night of December 31, called New Year's Eve. There are fireworks at midnight at the moment the new year arrives. Watchnight services are also still observed by many.
