This air conditioner, unironically, is a good piece of art. It is a culmination of mechanical, and electrical engineering that moisturize, filter, cool and/or warm up the air. And I think that is art in of itself, the design and the working functionality of this device.

These three statues has piqued my interest as my mates and I were looking through the room. The first and second statues reminded me of my late grandfather. He wasn't a carver but a woodworker who used a hammer & chisel and other tools to create wooden furniture back in his days. He was a person who embodied the Igorot culture often wearing bahag in Kanyaos. These statues reminded me of him. Rest in piece lolo Rolly.

When I entered "that" room this is the first artwork that I saw. At first I thought it was an oyster sculpture but then as I looked around the room I realized what this one is supposed to represent. I really find a hard time understanding the purpose of erotic art, perhaps my mind is still stuck in high school but I can't help but laugh at the arts that are on display on this room. However, looking at this sculpture in particular, I'm kind of impressed by the artist's creativity of making it seem like the compilation of leaves that happens to look like a genitalia or an oyster. Either way, I'm impressed. Suppose I still need to widen my mind to truly understand the depth of this artwork and the ones around it.

Indigenous Painting

Much like the other works I've seen prior, I've committed the grave mistake of not writing down the names of the artwork along with who made them. This piece of art is beautiful and sad, at least from my point of view. The subject in the work seems lonely, as if he's the last of his kind. That's what I understand from this painting. It's like a metaphor for the culture going extinct, with the world heading to a more modernized society and the cultural practices of the Igorots are slowly being lost in history.

I haven't done research on this statue but I am certain it is not part of any culture in Cordillera. The sculptor might have taken inspiration from some of the culture but the statue itself is not. This statue has legitimately given me nightmares not because it seems scary but because from my point of view, it looks like a real dead person that is mummified. It's face is uncannily real and this person looks like it was sacrificed to please the sun god or something.

The museum walk was overall a nice experience. I liked a lot of the artworks in the museum and it made me appreciate art. I was inspired in a way since most, if not, all of the work there were made by Filipinos. I'm really glad they made tremendous effort to preserve some cultural artworks there as they are part of history. It would have been a perfect experience had the cafe not have high-ass prices. (Im just a salty broke college boy)
