In a school setting, it is particularly important because we are not only responsible for ourselves but for people who trust us with their children.&nbsp;<br><br>There is always a certain vulnerability about the nature of working with children, teens and young people. These children are truly the future of Singapore, thus indeed we have a most important task to care for and look after these children, ensuring that legacy is passed down, that our country continues to be a place for our future generations to thrive in and flourish.<br><br>The values we uphold, will be the values they uphold<br><br>Why the 4 segments? Because we are not an island - we live amongst others and by the nature of what we do (teach) people look up to us (although this, in this current day and age is debatable)</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>The Code of Professional Conduct shows what the teaching fraternity values. It serves as an ethical and professional compass that guides teachers to do what is morally and ethically right so that they can take responsibility, make and carry out sound professional judgements and practices.<br><br></div><div>&nbsp;<br><br></div><div>The Code highlights to me that as a Teacher Leader, I have to set a good example by taking ownership of my own professional development and learning, keeping myself abreast with the most current teaching and learning pedagogies, applying what I have learnt into my teaching practice as well as helping to develop my teachers stay in time too. In my interactions with my fellow colleagues, I need to respect their differences, show no discrimination, value their inputs and opinions, and keep their personal information that I have obtained from my personal and professional interactions with them confidential. I also need to support them by collaborating with them in professional matters, discussing and sharing professional ideas and information with them, as well as speaking responsibly of them in front of stakeholders and students. I should also not show any favouritism nor discrimination against any parent or student and treat them fairly and professionally. I should engage my students professionally and respectfully and not build any unhealthy relationships with them that may affect the image of the teaching fraternity. The Code will also help me guide teachers who may be in a compromised position due to their past decision-making and show them the correct manner in dealing with their situations.<br><br><br></div>]]></description>
