(describe the image in your own words)</li></ul><div>Serena Williams is depicted as a caricature throwing a tantrum with a pacifier because she lost. </div><div><br></div><div><br></div><ul><li>Are there problems or issues with this image? If so, what are they? </li></ul><div>Her features are very exaggerated which is reminiscent of racist blackface cartoons in the past. She's also being portrayed as a baby and emotionally immature/ unstable.<br><br></div><ul><li>Do you see a system or source of power represented in this image? If so, what is it? </li></ul><div>White and male dominance in sports.<br><br></div><ul><li>How was this image created? </li></ul><div>Mr. Knight, an Australian cartoonist who mainly focuses on politics and sports, drew the image and published it.<br><br></div><ul><li>How was the image received?</li></ul><div>The image was received as very offensive because it is very clearly racist and sexist, but it was also defended by the newspaper.<br><br></div><ul><li>What are three questions you have after learning more about this image? </li></ul><div>What were the repercussions for the artist after publishing this image?<br>Did Serena have anything to say about the image?</div>]]></description>
