Judicial Branch

1.) The main responsibility of the judicial branch is to interpret  the laws that the legislative branch has created.
2.Supervises all federal court.
3. Has the power to declare laws passed by congress unconstitutional
4.)Can overrule court decisions that are made by  state courts
5.)Over rule all decisions made by lower federal courts.



Executive Branch 

1.)The main responsibility for executive branch is to enforce laws.
2.)Veto bills passed by congress.
3.) Grant Pardons.
4.)Send troops overseas
5.Negotiate treaties



Legislative Branch 

1.) The main responsibility for the legislative branch is to create laws.
2.) This Branch of government has the power of impeachment towards the president and override vetoes  with 2/3 majority vote.
3.)Has the power to declare war.
4.)Approve amendments to the constitution
5.)Control the federal taxation and spending

So, everyone is entitled to a speedy and quick trial. This is important to me because if not enforced, there would be an abuse of power within the court. Also if it was not for this rule the accused would be in oblivion because they would be prohibited  to ask or be informed of their circumstances.

Goes as follows, "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances."  Anyone is entitled to do anything because of their liberty. The good and the bad can take advantage of this and regardless we are all protected by it. It's great! Besides the bad abusing that power, but it's generally great.

  • As mentioned in the CQ article, one way to fix the consistution is  requiring "Supermajority To Overturn Laws" There should be, according to KC64, a supermajority of atleast 7 supreme court justices to overturn a law as unconstitutional.

    Their reasoning is that if a law is to be deemed un- constitutional, it shouldn’t be a close call. It should be obvious. When a law is passed by Congress or a state legislature, and signed by a governor or the president, it has already been deemed constitutional by all those who approved it. It shouldn't be so easy to change afterward.
