during the fist 4 seconds Beyoncé is representing a typical 70s dressed woman, crouching in a masculine stands, on top of a police car drowned in a flood. She does this to represents the aftermath of what happened after hurricane Katrina , in a mainly black area when police don't help. the camera is zoomed out so that is shows all of the ruined low -class houses.

Beyoncé hold herself higher than everyone else in the video to show her wealth and power, over the community. she also has most of the camera focused on her , and when it is zoomed out she is always central. 

Beyoncé uses a lot of black lives matter references. she mainly has black female and male dancers. it is set in a black society, and shows the day to day activities of the community. Beyoncé also has all black clothing on and african-american braids in her hair.

during the video Beyoncé is representing police brutality and how it differs in a black culture. as statistics show deaths by police are higher in a black community than a white populated area.

overall Beyoncé is representing how black lives matter and the power of females in black communities, and how the government and police have not helped society.
