The LSA’s work well together most of the time. As a whole we are all willing to chip in and do what is needed to be done at any given time. Stride being in the bigger room works better than them being in the smaller classroom crammed together.

lack of communication between us all or things can be really last minute which doesn't always work out well

Having back up from management when it comes to learners who are behaving badly or disruptive. Having consequences for those learners hold up and have some sort of weight behind it for when they are disrupting a whole lesson. Right now it feels like we say things but nothing changes and the learners know nothing is going to get them kicked out.

What is the possibility of instead of 2 groups we have more smaller groups that rotate round. We could create separate spaces in the larger class, use the smaller classroom and the middle room, use the area we sit in and when the weather is ok use outdoors. It would alleviate learners being in one place for too long. Maybe 30 minute turn around for the groups. Just thinking outside the box!

i think we need to practice not responding to the meltdowns with a need to regulate the student at that moment as well as not taking it personally. The student need safe space to let everything out and regulate back to the stage where they will be ready to listen.

The opportunity to be able to take the learners into the town, on visits such as the recent visit to The Happening, and the access to a garden works well for learners who engage better with practical activities rather than traditional classroom based sessions. Research shows motivation is enhanced in FE/Alternative provision when learners are enjoying activities. Spalding learners 'enjoy' learning outside the classroom.

The provision would benefit from being a 4 day provision rather than a 2 day provision. This would enable grouping of learners and associated quals allowing more opportunity to the learners and their associated needs.
