         <description><![CDATA[<p>1776-1840</p><p><em>Teacher</em>-Teacher had to be good citizens and be a major part of everything.They had to obey laws and rules.And they had to respect authority have to be involved in the church.</p><p><em>Curriculum</em>-Reading, Writing, Math,Christian Principles, and Citizen ship, Greek, Roman, English and American history.</p><p>Wealthy boys got to learn Greek, Latin, English Grammar, Advanced math, geography, Literature and Science. Religion played less of a role.</p><p><em>Location</em>-In cities more schools started and rural areas followed, There was a secondary school started for people who were able to pay for it and public education was free.</p><p><em>Materials</em>-horn books,Paper pencil</p><p><br></p><p><br></p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>1840-1880</p><p><em>Teacher</em>-women were allowed to teach now.They started to get a low salary paid by community.teacher training started.</p><p><em>Curriculum</em>-mostly the same but now included the McGuffey textbooks which taught moral lessons, reading, spelling, history,biology, botany, literature, speech,</p><p>and lessons on proper behavior. and the passing of the Morill act. Kindergartens were created mainly a German custom.</p><p><em>Location</em>-in common schools or in a small one room school house.</p><p><em>Materials</em>-Horn Books, McGuffey readers, paper, pencils</p><p><em>Extra</em>-Taxes were used to support public schools.the schools for African Americans lacked funding and supplies.</p>]]></description>

High schools opened and a High school diploma became needed to find a job.</p><p><em>Location</em>-Children worked in factories, and Urban cities and progressive reducing the number of hours children could work.</p><p><em>Materials</em>-links between learning and experience.
