In Switzerland every citizen has equal rights. The citizens in Switzerland have a law that states that "Every one is equal before the law". They have the right to life and personal freedom. The difference between Switzerland and North Korea is that all Switzerland citizens have equal rights and have freedom where as in North Korea the citizens have no rights and are isolated from the outside world. They have the right to marriage and family. Like The United States, Switzerland has freedom of Religion and freedom of press and opinion. In Switzerland the citizens have the freedom to get married and have a family and own property and work and freedom of religion. Every four years Switzerland citizens have the right to vote for who they want to run the country.

The current Swiss president was elected by parliament to be the president for 2018. The 26 cantons (states) elect a representatives. In Switzerland they have elections to choose a new leader. In December 2018 Ueli Maurer was elected by parliament to be the president in 2019. Switzerland is very much like the U.S. when it comes to elections, the people in the country get to vote for a leader they trust. Like the United States they only have elections every four years. Switzerland is a direct democracy which means that citizens have more power than in a representative country. The choice of a president is based on how long someone has been in the government, a minister becomes president at least every seven years or a one year term. the federal power is held in two chambers of the Federal Assembly, The National Council and The Council of States.

In Switzerland there are some strict rules that the country must follow. One law is that it is illegal to cover your face in public places. Smoking has been banned in and in enclosed spaces. In Switzerland it is illegal to ride a bike down a long hill in a small Swiss town. If you slam the car door after 10 pm or if you switch between one limited parking spot to another without entering traffic you get fined. In Switzerland it is considered offensive to mow your law on a Sunday because it cause too much noise. Some laws in Switzerland are similar to laws in the U.S one example is Jaywalking is illegal in Switzerland. The production, culture, use and possession of drugs is considered as criminal infringements.

North Korea is a Democratic country and is a dictatorship. The difference between North Korea and Switzerland is that citizens in Switzerland have more rights when people in North Korea have little to no rights. In Switzerland the leader is elected by the people who vote for them, and in North Korea they do not get a say in who there leader is because it is in the family. In North Korea if someone commits a crime then the family of the person who committed a crime is sent to camp 22 where they have to stay for the rest of their lives. In North Korea the citizen shave very little rights they are told how to get their hair cut and what they can see on the news. In Switzerland the citizens have more rights they can choose what they do and where they go where in North Korea they can not travel outside North Korea. Kim Jong-un has been dictator since 2011 and in North Korea they elect a new leader every four years. North Korea and Switzerland are very different in the way that the citizens have rights in Switzerland and not in North Korea and in Switzerland the people are more free
