have saved lives and property by alerting people that there is a fire in the house so it can be put out before it does much damage. However, smoke detectors annoyingly beep when their batteries are low and they also can beep a false alarm when there is too much smoke from cooking in the kitchen.

Good: It has saved lives by warning people about fire in the home.

Good: It has saved property because people can put out fire before it gets big.

Bad: When the batteries are low it can beep false alarms

Bad: If something burns while cooking, the alarm can overreact and beep crazily.
