This movement sparked the call for change that we have now in our world. One of the most significant organizations during The Gay Liberation movement was the Gay Liberation Front (GLF).The GLF was a decentralized group whose goals were to promote social and political change through activism and grassroots organizing. Some of the most notable members of GLF were Marsha P. Johnson, Sylvia Rivera, and Brenda Howard. Another important figure to this movement was Dick Leitsch. Dick was the president of the Mattachine Society, one of the earliest known LGBTQ+ organizations in the United States. Leisch also took part in the stonewall uprising. With his first hand accounts, Leitsch was able to shed light on the power of abuse led by the police and their brutalities on the LGBTQ+ community.
