Malcolm father name is Earl Little. His family name was Little, but Malcolm's father, Earl, was a big man. Tall, heavyset, and dark, he was a man. In 1931, when Malcolm Little was 6 Years old, his father was killed. Although the cause of death is officially recorded as an accident Malcolm and many others believe this is not the truth. They believe he was murdered by white supermacists because he was spreading the word of Marcus Garvey(p 22). Marcus Garvey believed is black Economic independence and and in Africa Unity for all people who had been taking from a Africa . Speaking out against the white supermacists was dangerous to do but that did not stop Earl Little form speaking out for truth and justice for Black Americans. The loss of his father was never forgotten and influenced Malcolm for the rest of his life.

Malcolm met Fidel Castro because it showed how the struggle for civil rights in the United States and the fight against imperialism and colonization in the developing world were interconnected. "Where Castro had been expected to stay, to the Harlem location"( Myers P 124). This show us that at 1960, Harlem Was the center of African American culture, and the civil rights movement was gaining momentum. That's why Castro decide to stay Harlem.

The life of the African-American at that time were very horrible. They were poor. Most of them had moved from the south to north in search of job but it didn't hep them much. So when the Nation of Islam started to appear in the basis of the promise that it can help to make the situation of the African-American better, many of them started to join the group. The Nation of Islam was created by a man named Wallace Fard Muhammad who claimed to be born in Mecca. According to Malcolm X: By Any Mean Necessary, at first he he was teaching the difference of the lifestyle between people of Detroit, where the Nation of Islam had its start and Saudi Arabia. But gradually, he was talking about the relationship between the blacks and whites (Myers, p. 69). Although the Nation of Islam was teaching the words of Quran just like the traditional Islam, on the core, It was more about race than religion.

After learning about the dark secret of Elijah Muhammad, Malcolm had left the Nation of Islam. He felt betrayed and he was disappointed. So to move on from this, he decided that he need to know more about Islam. He decided to go to Mecca for the pilgrimage. Upon arriving, he was thoroughly overwhelmed by the hospitality. In this place, there is no such thing called "white people" or "black people", only those who are faithful to Islam. Malcolm mentioned in his autobiography, "They were of all colors, from blue-eyed blonds to black-skinned African. But we were all participating in the same ritual" (Myers, Page 152-153). In Mecca, Malcolm made his full conversion to Islam.

In 1963, the U.S. was in the verge of violence, the involvement in the Vietnam War, the civil rights movement. In the same year, president John F. Kennedy was assassinated. The U.S was was grieving. Being the speaker the for a powerfully growing group, reporters were bound to ask Malcolm questions about the assassination. Elijah had forbid Malcolm comment on that topic. Despite that, he had things to say. He said that the President "never foresaw that the chickens would come home to roost so soon" (Myers, Page 140). He said that the violent atmosphere in the U.S. which was neglected by the administration had payed its price. Obviously, the grieving nation didn't take it kindly. For that, Elijah banned Malcolm from speaking on the press. Malcolm felt betrayed. He felt the Nation of Islam which he had worked so hard to build up had been drifting away from its moral, Islamic morals. On top of that, he heard that Elijah had children with a women he didn't married. That made the official exits for Malcolm from the Nation of Islam.

Many important events happened in chapter 19." The first Malcolm was Malcolm the child, who lived in Nebraska and Michigan. He lived much like a million other black boys born in the United States. He was loved by two parents, Earl and Louise Little. From them he learned about morality, and decency, and the need to do well in school. His parents gave him a legacy of love, but also a legacy of pride."( Myers P 183). Overall, this quote shows that Malcolm's early life was shaped by the love and values of his parents, which in turn helped to lay the foundation for his later activism and leadership in the civil rights movement.
