26.10.20
Part 1
1. Prioritised: Increasing students attendance in sync and Async spaces. Building relationships with school team. Taking time off from screen.

2. Actual outcome: Attendance did increase in sync but didn't increase in async space. Working on building relationships with school team. Didn't do much for self.

3. Contacting kids through Whatsapp. Giving them feedback on their work. Going to school on time, talking to teachers.
Didn't work: Disturbing sleep pattern and not prioritising myself.

4. Prioritise self to be able to achieve all.

5.
K: Subject related
S: Act and don't overthink
M: Ignoring negative thoughts and focussing on the good.

Part 2
Self: I am going to Prioritise me. My mental and physical health. I will be starting my day with meditation and will end it by reading for an hour atleast. Not touching the phone will enable it and strictly blocking time for doing this will help.
Also, I will try to be regular about these two things

Students: Making Maths fun for them and thereby increasing students learnings and attendance in sync space.

School: Maintaining a healthy relationship with school teachers and a cordial relationship with my team. This I will be doing by communicating and by actively participating.

2 November 2020
PART 1
I prioritised the above mentioned things last week and it did happen. Self is getting side lined. Students is what I focussed on the most. School relationship building is in progress.
The learning from last week is to leverage Asynchronous space with girls to instill collaboration, critical thinking and empathy in them.

PART 2
This week I want to read for self, engage more with my girls , leverage asynch space, have clear communication with my Collab for planning steps ahead. Roadblock can be mismanagement of time.

2 November 2020
Something old- Research work for class, Worksheet Checking and feedback on them, leveraging async space and time.
Something new- Setting class culture
Something borrowed- Putting time trackers in Ppt

Something Blue- Increasing attendance

23 November 2020
Moment of Blackness: Dip in attendance of both sync and Async.
Moment of Orangeness: Attendance and Engagement will increase. I experimented by taking class outdoors to show how Maths is everywhere in real life.

Part 1
1. Students- Increase attendance: 25 to 30 kids showed up in class.
2. Staff- Continue to maintain good relations: Made sure all expectations are fulfilled.
3. Self- Take out time for myself: Rested on the weekend.

Regular touch points with kids is something that I want to continue to do and increase even more.
Kids also need break from their daily routine. They need support now more than ever and I need to be able to cater to that.
Also, I loved the LC. It really helped me to gain insights of what needs to be prioritised. I am hoping that I am able to manage my time well to be able to achieve all that I intend to do.

Part 2
Students- Increase attendance and engagement.
Action- Maintain regular touch points with the kids, appreciate kids who are doing well.
School- Maintain good relations with the staff
Action- Fulfill school expectation.
Self- Take out time for myself
Action- Deliberately take out time to do some self care practice or to just relax and take a break from screen.

Accountability structures would help me make sure that the above actions are being taken. Unexpected work can be a blocker for self time. Also, mental exhaustion also leads to less productivity some times.

Date: 2nd November, 2020.

Synch attendance was good with 28-30 kids attending the classes. Asynch attendance is still pretty low with only 16-20 kids doing the DOE Worksheets. School relations continue to remain good! For self, I feel there were good daya and not so good days this past week.

Classes went okayish last week. I am figuring out few structures for group practice and making thinking visible but there are a lot of breakdowns happening. So, I have to figure that out. One learning is that my classes not going well on a particular does not reflect upon who I am as a teacher. One or two not so great classes doesn't mean that I am bad teacher. Thus, I need to let go off the self doubt.

Part 2:
As sync attendance is becoming consistent I really want to make sure that it stays that way and improves. For this week, I really want that asynch attendance touches atleast 25. As a school team, we have decided to set up some reward systems. Thus, I am hoping that will help with increasing attendance.

As far as school is concerned, the only aim is to continue to maintain strong relations.

For self, I really want to overthink less and stop doubting myself. It takes up so much of my brain space and I can't afford that. Also, I have to prioritise post-fellowship this week and this month as a whole.

Accountability structures would help me make sure that the above actions are being taken. Unexpected work can be a blocker for self time. Also, mental exhaustion also leads to less productivity some times.

9th November, 2020

Something old- I feel that consistency in the way I take classes is something that I always do. Consistency has helped build certain skills in students overtime; the results of which are now showing!!

Something new- Just looking at things from a 360 degree perspective is something that I want to do from now on. I have realised when only one perspective is looked at a lot of things are missed and then the root cause of something is not properly identified.

Something borrowed- I have started student led classroom with Grade 10 and breakout rooms with Grade 8. They are going really well!!

Something blue- I want to do a lot in little time. So, ultimately I end up bombarding myself with work. But I am happy working quite honestly. So, nothing for now :)

23rd November, 2020

Moment of blackness- When I had no motivation to work and my anxiety shot up big time.

Moment of orangeness- I gave myself time and realised my energy become lighter. That was the time I felt so much better.

Moment of excitement- Festive season was all about excitement. Always love having friends and family around :)

School:
1. Going to school.
2. Submitting/doing all deliverables/tasks on time.

School team:
1. Supporting them as much as possible.
2. Participating in sharED and sharing our story!

Self:
1. Post-fellowship work
2. Take out time for self- care

7th December, 2020

Consciousness- To not be hard on myself and to make sure whatever I intend to do is done within time and in the way I want it to.

Creativity- To be able to build a problem solving attitude (have been working on it from past few weeks) and to hone my persuasion skills is something that I would like to do this week.

Communication- Students as Partners guys. It is really amazing once this starts happening. Be it for content or beyond academics.

Courage and collaboration- I have a lot to do this week in terms of deliverables and work but need to look after myself too. So, creating that balance would be tough.

Date - 26/10

Part 1

Last week I prioritised Self - which included taking time to rejuvinate; School - tracking worksheets and for Students - increasing attendance and engagement.

Actual outcomes for Self matched my intended as I was able to close out day on time and take a break. For students too - attendance and engagement is on a rise but not up to my desired point. However, in terms of tracking worksheets I did not do well.

Regular check-ins with kids worked, would want to continue that this week too.

I feel being part of spaces with other fellows who are teaching same grades and subjects helped me understand the common challenges and also brainstorm certain ideas. The LC was relaxing and gave a much needed long term vision to my present actions :)

Part 2
One priority I want to work on this week is setting the PURPOSE. Many of my grade 8th students used Google to give their test. Step - So I need to bring back the purpose of tests and assessments in terms of "Self Growth" in a Sync session- Students.

For self - I would want to work on work-life balance. Steps would include - closing the day on time, taking 5 minutes stretch break every half an hour.
For School - I would want to work on building community engagement. Action step - Plan a PTM along with my school team.
Blockers - Being too tired to call post classes and other Sync Spaces.

Date - 02/11 (SRK ka birthday !)

Part 1

Closing out last week -

In terms of class and self growth it was a productive week as I took all my classes - attendance and engagement with 8th also increased. Even for Self - Loved learning a lot from Raisha in Lesson Planning Clinic and also worked on my biases through Ed for Equity spaces. Even made my Unit Plan, learnt about chapter planning.

However, in terms of self well-being, things did take a down-turn. I take a lot of time to process things and that is why post Friday it went all blur.

Things that worked well - We completed UWC which we thought we wont be able to.

Actions that did not take place - PTM. Actually parents are also busy with the festive season so scheduling out time with them becomes difficult.

Knowledge and Skill - Learnt how to break down Access and Exposure - 4 into actionable steps. Hoping to work on them this week.

Part 2

School and Students- For this, I plan to take ideas from the Collab meeting because at an individual level it become very difficult to hold onto the attendance and engagement consistency.
For Grade 8 - While engagement is the issue. For Grade 9 - it is attendance.
I would love to brainstorm this week and then chalk out collective actions for November.

Self- Things are a bit shaky here. So would love to spend more time with family and try to wrap up work before parents come back home so that we get family time. The small moments need to be valued, be it with my kids or my family or my team.

Blockers to both - FOMO and not being able to manage work and life.

Date - 9/11 (Demonetisation ka 4th anniversary)

Something old - I had a masterclass and it went well. Learnt a lot from others through along the week. Brainstormed with Collab about what can be done to increase attendance in Sync Space.

Something new- Going to call a lot. grade 8th for device distribution and grade 9 for accountability.
For self I would want to spend some time with family as it is a week of festivals. Need to visit friends and their families also!

Something borrowed - I loved how Oindrilla made her teachers Didi in the class. I saw Aastha doing that today. I want to start creating such spaces for my kids too.

Something blue - Need to look for invested volunteers especially for Science. And also my students are not following boundaries - especially with calling at 7 in the morning on a Sunday, need to have a conversation.

Date - 23/11

Moments of Blackness - Some students being completely disinvested - blocking calls, not replying to texts, not letting me talk to parents. This made me sad and hopeless both even a bit angry to be honest.

Moments of Orangeness (Hope/Enthusiasm) -
The conversations with a few parents were really eye-opening. I got to know how despite of wanting to provide the best for their kids sometimes their situation withholds them. Their willingness to take part in their child's day to day life gave me hope.

Moments of Red (Excitement) - Got to spend a lot of time with my partner's family this week because of Chath puja. So personally that was highlight of the week.
Professionally, almost all my 8th graders are registered to get devices - which is making me super happy and excited.

Actions/Inputs for this week -

School -
a) Parents-Teacher Meeting for 9th and 10th graders
b) Create strong LPs for Student-led classes

School team -
a) Work on Collab 2.0 to address to identify key levers
b) Coordinate and organize a frutiful PTM session

Self -
a) Exercise daily
b) Spend some time on leisure reading for upskilling and growth.

Date - 07/12/2020

Consciousness - I am aiming to reach out to as many students as possible and have regular check-ins with them. This makes me understand their context better and has also led to more response from their side.

Creativity - Something new that I am planning to do this week is a free flow writing session with my 9th graders. I always stick to plans but maybe at times free-flow writing can work better.

Communication - Appreciating all those who complete their work in the next class. This has led to increase in Homework submissions.

Courage and Collaboration - I am facing issues with students being consistent. Would love to hear some ideas on it.

Oct 26, 2020
Part1
The last week was comparatively less heavy than usual. I got time and space to rejuvenate and spend time with family during the festivities. I had planned to work on my procrastination, which I could gradually. I worked-out during the week and ate with cognisance. Moreover, I could
complete my work before deadlines and was able to execute Mid-Term assessments quite smoothly, without clutter.
However, due to certain session overlaps I couldn’t provide a
space to students to clarify their doubts. I could have worked
better on managing my time that way. I realised that I am able
to materialise my plans better if I plan rigorously. This week
is going to be hectic and hence, would require for me to operate with a calm and consistent mindset.

Part 2
My Priorities for self this week would be to spend some more time on Post-fellowship research and maintain health. Furthermore, to deliver all sessions/workshops in a timely and planned manner. For my students, it will be to increase engagement by designing my lessons in such a way that it encourages participation and student talk, and by sharing worksheet submission record and assessment results by the end of this week. It will also be to provide them a space for revision of important concepts. Maintaining a TO DO list, spending less time on social-media and focusing on my work will enable me. My disablers will include screen fatigue, more deliverables that don’t align with my goals for the week.

Nov 2, 2020

Part1

Goals- Work out to maintain health, Post-fellowship research, Increasing student engagement in classroom

Actual outcomes- Researched and worked towards my goals but there were cliffhangers and impromptu tasks and deadlines which broke the flow to a certain extent.

I think the last week was quite relaxed work wise and was able to come up with an effective lesson plan and feel relieved today also I was focussed on inculcating curiosity amongst my students which i was able to achieve to an extent

2 I think my main focus was on the feedback I got from 10 graders but also made sure that my 8 graders learn as well. I hope am able to take effective classes
9 November
1. One old practice that I continue with is experimenting with different ways of teaching and figuring out what works well for my class
2 one new practice I've started with is not thinking from a teacher's point of view rather see things from a student's point of view and think what they need
3. The only thing that makes me feel blue is the school related circular thingy
23 November
I think the sad moment was things not working in the class especially grade 8 in terms of attendance etc
The happy part was all the festivities
The enthusiastic part was discussions with Rads
2 things for school
Loved working with the HM and Tripathi ma'am
School team
I always get that freshness while talking with Aastha and Chetana
Ishita is just fun to be around
2 things on self
Love my fitness regime and hopefully it will continue over a long time
Need to work on my ideas
7 December
I think the creative part has been interacting with tenth graders on whatsapp and discussing the big questions and with eighth grade it is the ae activities and going old school in teaching them spoken English
The communication bit is with the school staff. I think some teachers are really friendly and we can leverage from them particularly in school based projects

Date- 27 Oct, 2020.
Part 1.

A. I had prioritised:
(i) Having a student lead classroom in 10th Grade and increasing attendance in sync spaces in 9th grade.
(ii)Increasing interaction with School Staff, taking feedback & inputs from Head of Faculty of SST on the assessment paper, I'd designed.
(iii)Taking out time to workout/ meditate.

B. Actual outcomes:
    (i) Attendance increased in 9th Grade, Couldn't hold a student led class.
(ii) Worked on interacting more with staff. Took feedback on assessments.
(iii) Took out 2 hours in the entire week for some recreational activity.

C. Actions:
(i) Contacted students and spoke with parents to ensure attendance in sync spaces.
(ii) Didn't plan better for the student led class: Had assessments, observation and autumn break clashing the same week.

D. Leverage good weekly planning and unit planning to ensure smooth execution.

E. Knowledge: Learnt a great deal of Geography and Economics to ensure good execution in class. Last week's LC was very helpful in putting things into black and white and added to my learning.
Skill: I took a check-in for the first time, learning how to go about that.
Mindset: Learning to take in multi perspectives before making a decision, learnt from interaction with principal Ma'am.

Part 2:
I would block time with a couple of students, discuss a lesson plan with them so that they can execute next week for their Political Science class.
Sleep on time and wake up early to keep an hour for self in the morning.
Identify students who need and Planning check-ins with them.
Starting Star of the week concept, who shared maximum timely worksheets
Improper pacing through the day would be a blocker.

2 November, 2020.

Part1-
I am moving forward with the idea of a student lead classroom.
I managed to hold a couple of more check-ins.
I have been sleeping better as well.

Part 2-
I want to hold 2 SEL sessions with my girls. One focusing toward building & growing patience & empathy in . The other one revolving around teen issues and how to deal with them, since, it's very relevant, now more than ever.
I wish to keep the engagement with the school staff, a going concern, smooth, as it is.
I aim to start taking out time to read.

Something old: I havent't been able to hold the SEL spaces, due to ongoing UTs, pushing it to the next week, or to the one after that. Unsure about that.
I have been working on maximum engagement, by bringing in some fun learning activities.

Something new: Keep a check on adopted students.
Read more. Communicate better with School HoS by keeping them informed.

Something borrowed- Doing presentations with students, them coming out with ideas and presenting them.

Something blue- Time Management.

Redness- Finally meeting my entire family after a very long time.

Orangeness- Learning to do things, one at a time and not getting overwhelmed. Feeling hopeful, post, Collab 2.0 conversation.

Blackness- Missing deadlines, Dropping attendance in classroom.

23 Nov 2020.

School- Collecting and correcting answer sheets. Providing updated attendance.

School Team- Holding each other accountable and making deadlines meet.

Self- Start studying and runnning again.

November 2nd, 2020

1. Students- Increase attendance: 25 to 30 kids showed up in class.
2. Staff- Continue to maintain good relations: Made sure all expectations are fulfilled.
3. Self- Take out time for myself: Rested on the weekend.

Regular touch points with kids, staff and self really worked out.
Also, I loved the post fellowship space. It really helped me to gain insights of what needs to be prioritised. I am hoping that I am able to manage my time well to be able to achieve all that I intend to do.

Accountability structures would help me make sure that the above actions are being taken. Unexpected work can be a blocker for self time. Also, mental exhaustion also leads to less productivity some times.

For the coming week, my priority is student attendance.
Steps:
1. Round of calling kids.
2. Informal spaces.
3. Another round of PTM.
