We have thought about doing an oral history project in class but it has never panned out, I think because of students' varying access to people in their homes/neighborhoods

I was able to interview my grandma and I learned a lot about her life. It is now really meaningful to have a document that discusses her early life. She was very excited to tell her story.

I feel like oral history is super important to Jewish History. I grew up listening to oral histories from Holocaust survivors and even stories from my own family of escaping the pogroms in the 1880s. I really really love that when I was interning at the National Museum of American Jewish History they introduced an oral history station where anyone could go and answer questions and tell stories in front of a camera. The videos all get archived by the museum and can be viewed by visitors. It felt so poignant because it has always been a part of Jewish History to me.
