First Mentor Meeting

My first meeting with my mentor was via text on Monday, September 22, at approximately 8:00 a.m. She let me lead the conversation mostly, to let me ask whatever I liked. She also asked me about my first exam and what went well and what didn't. She gave me some advice on what studying techniques are most useful to her. She had some good insight on how to go about my exams and what can make them less overwhelming. I checked in with her after my first 210 exam and told her what went well. I found it to be a good first meeting and definitely eased my mind with all the stress that comes with nursing.

Second Mentor Meeting

My second meeting happened over text on Monday, October 13, at around 8:40 pm. She started by asking how my classes are going. She also asked about studying for my exams and how balancing my personal life is going. I explained to her how well it's been going recently compared to how I felt at the beginning of the semester. I've learned the best ways to study for me, and I'm able to balance my personal life a lot better now. She asked about skills check-offs and how they have been. She then asked if I had any questions for her. I explained my first skills check-off experience. We ended the meeting by figuring out a date when we can meet for our first in-person meeting. She mentioned that we can go over some head-to-toe assessment stuff and manual BPS. Overall, I thought it was a good, short, and sweet meeting. I'm excited to meet in person and get the most out of everything she has to help me in the nursing program.

Third Mentor Meeting

My third meeting was in person after the white coat ceremony rehearsal. This was on November 5th. We talked about both of my nursing exams the week before and how they went, as well as my skills check-off. I did good on both of them and continue to improve. She also talked to me about the white coat ceremony some more and what to expect so my nerves were calmed.

Last Mentorship Meeting

My last meeting with my mentor was in person. We met on November 20th in CJs. We went over my goals that we set at the beginning of the semester, and she asked if I thought I had met all my goals. We also talked about some of the final assignments that I would have to do and she was just telling me what to expect. We went over a head-to-toe assessment and she gave me some tips that help her remember everything.
